Kokichi woke up to a cold, empty feeling. He felt around the bed for his taller boyfriend. When he wasn't found, Kokichi slowly opened his eyes to reveal the empty bed.

"(Y/N)?" The purple-haired boy called out the name, hoping he was just in the bathroom. After receiving no answer he called out a few more times. No answer.

Eventually, he opted to go searching. He swung his legs over the edge and hopped out of the bed. While walking down the hall he felt a sharp pain in his lower back but he did his best to ignore it.

He checked all the obvious places, the gym, his secret lab, the kitchen and no sign of him being present in any of them. He found Kirumi in the kitchen and asked her if she had seen (Y/N) which she, of course, hadn't.

The more he walked around, the more that sinking feeling in the back of his mind grew. While walking through the dormitory he picked up a foul stench coming from one of the doors.

He followed the smell to the top floor before stopping at one of the doors. Shuichi's.

He knocked on the door. No answer.

He knocked a bit louder. No answer.

Practically banging on the door. No answer.

He gave up on somebody opening the door and pulled a hairpin from his hair, making it all the messier. He straightened the pin and inserted it into the lock, fiddling with it until it opened.

The second he opened the door the, all too familiar, pungent smell of blood invaded his senses. The stench was so foul he had to block his nose to keep himself conscious.

"Hello?" As always, no answer.

The smell was getting stronger as he walked in. It seemed to be stemming from the closet but it was empty, excluding all of Shuichi's clothes.

Kokichi moved through all of the clothes in the closet to the back. At the back was a door, ever so slightly open.

Kokichi creaked the door open as quietly as he could before peeking inside. The floorboards were stained blood red, all the blood stemming from a chair facing the opposite wall.

He slowly approached the chair. As he got closer he could make out an arm hanging limply over the side. He took another step but this time he stepped in something squishy accompanied by a chilling, crunch sound. He cringed as he looked down and saw that he stood on a discarded finger.

Fueled by adrenaline, curiosity and quite a bit of fear, he moved closer to the chair.
Slowly he reached out, the chair was cold. He circled it to get a better view, instantly regretting the decision.

In the chair was the lifeless body of (Y/N), lying limply in the cold, wooden chair. He had deep gashes all the way down his body, from his face and neck, all the way down to his legs. He was covered in blood, missing a finger, and had a knife sticking out of his chest.

Kokichi's entire body was shaking. He slowly reached two fingers to the other boy's neck.

Nothing.

Tears were rolling down his cheeks. He moved a shaky hand to the knife, lodged in his chest. His hand was covered in blood but he didn't care. Slowly he removed the knife, cringing at the sound it made.

He placed a small kiss on the boy's forehead.

"I will always be with you... I love you (Y/N)."

The knife sliced cleanly through his neck and his body dropped to the floor, blood pouring from his throat.

I love you.
