You were slowly regaining your consciousness. You could swear you heard faint sobs. Slowly your eyes opened, but your vision was blurry. You rubbed at them several times until you could make out the dark shadowy figure of Kokichi, huddled in the corner. He had his face buried in his knees and he was shaking.

"Kich, you okay?" Anyone could tell from your voice you were worried. He looked up at you. There were tears still rolling from the corners of his eyes. He didn't respond instead he buried himself back into his knees. You walked over to the corner of the room he was in and slid down next to him. You pulled his unusually light body against yours. He was cold. His tears continued to dampen your sleeve. You ran a finger through his hair with one hand and hugged him tightly with the other. "Shhhh, shhh, it's okay." You kept trying to comfort him and eventually the tears stopped falling, he started shaking less and he buried himself further into you.

After a couple more minutes he had calmed down enough to form somewhat coherent sentences. "Thank you," he whispered. You picked him up and plonked his body down on the bed. He buried his entire body into you and his face into the crook of your neck. You wrapped your arms around him protecting him from all the dangers which were currently not present. He was still slightly shaking in your arms. You were of course, worried but he looked awfully tired and you were as well. You both needed rest. Almost immediately you heard the small boys snores. Soon after you were asleep with him.

You slowly opened your eyes. Glancing around the room, it was unfamiliar to you. It took you a few moments to realise where you were, of course, the purple-haired boy in your arms assisted you in remembering. He was still fast asleep. You found him so cute. He was so calm. His face wasn't twisted into a fake smile. It wasn't frowning or laughing. It was so calm, so cute, so beautiful. You leaned over and kissed his forehead, it was like your impulses took over you. You hadn't even realised what you did until you did it. You tried to stay as still as possible, not wanting to wake him up.

Slowly, he began to stir. His eyes fluttered open and he looked directly into yours. His large, purple eyes were so beautiful, you could stare into them forever. The way they gleamed in the light of the sun. The way that the colour was so perfect. You snapped out of your daze when he gave you a confused glance. You muttered an apology before getting up to a sitting position. This seemed to upset him as he pulled you back down and cuddled into you. "Five more minutes," He muttered. You couldn't help but laugh. "You're so cute when you are angry." He frowned and sat up.

"Heyyyyyyy~ I'm not cute. I'm an evil leader of evil. I strike fear in the hearts of my enemies." You started laughing, uncontrollably. After maybe two or three minutes you calmed down enough to speak. "Silence Bottom! AHAHAHHAHA!" He frowned and crossed his arms.

Finally you calmed down from the fit of laughter. "Hey, Kich." You lowered your voice to a more serious tone. He turned to face you. "What happened last night... well I guess this morning? I was really worried you know." He looked at you. You could tell he was unsure of what to say. "I just had a nightmare, no biggie." He shrugged. "Do they happen often, cuz you seemed pretty shaken up?" He turned away to face the wall. When he turned back there were tears welling up in his eyes. He nodded before he broke down crying. This is a completely different Kokichi. He's so vulnerable and... upset. The thought of it being a lie, or a mask crossed your mind. But it seemed so... genuine... so real. Plus, what does he have to gain from lying?

You wrapped your arms around the small boy and began tracing circles on his back while whispering 'shhhhh it's okay' into his ear. His crying became quieter and quieter until it stopped. Instead, he just let out the occasional sniffle. "You stay here, I'm gonna get us breakfast, I'll be right back." He nodded and whispered a quiet 'hurry up.'
