A few hours passed and it was now nightfall. Gone was the warm tropical sun that had at least provided some comfort, replaced by a cold night breeze that chilled me to the marrow of my bone. To top it off, there were a bunch of ill-looking, grey clouds obscuring the moon. In the horizon, flashes of white illuminated the dense clouds. I did not like the sight of them at all. It looked like it was going to rain. Heavily.
Sure enough, lightning lit up the sky and the clouds rumbled ominously. I groaned, "This is the last thing I need right now."
Since incurring my 'little' injury, I've been left unable to walk for more than a few steps. My escape plans had all but been hindered indefinitely. Therefore, I was now leaning against a tree and wallowing in self-misery and self-pity. I really was a hopeless idiot.
I tried to move my injured foot and immediately regretted it. A spear of pain shot up my leg and effectively stopped any further attempts to move it. I sighed miserably.
"Can this get-"
No! Don't say the accursed words!
But it was too late; I'd already brought bad luck upon myself. It started to rain, and boy were they not kidding about tropical storms. I sighed dejectedly again.
"For fuck's sake..." In a matter of seconds, I was wetter than the ocean. And so, so cold. Soon, I began to shiver. In an attempt to retain some heat, I wrapped my hands around myself, but it was useless.
Schneizel, where are you? Find me fast, because I can't seem to save myself. So come and save me so we can be together again.
The bushes nearby rustled and through them stepped my tormentor. At long last. I was wondering when he was going to show his face again.
Dread assailed me, potent and so very real. It was worse than when Raven had threatened my very existence. This sensation felt like a pool of tar that I'd unwittingly fallen in, and now I was being pulled down, slowly but surely. I was now up to my shoulders in putrid tar.
"For fuck-"
"Yes, yes, you're happy to see me." He smiled in that infuriating way of his, clearly mocking me. "I bet you missed me as much as I missed you. It certainly were a few lonely hours while you discovered what an island means."
"Enough with the games." I said through clenched teeth, my heart beating a frantic rhythm against my ribcage. "Just tell me who you are and what exactly you want from me." He was still dressed in the same outfit I saw him in this morning, and he was just as wet as I was. The white shirt clung to his hard body, defining some serious muscle. Even if I were uninjured, there was no way that I could take on Cain in a fight and win.
The same black parrot from this morning appeared again, wings fluttering furiously in the winds, and glided down against the gale to land on Cain's shoulder.
Cain came to stand in front of me.
Alarm bells sounded in my head. Every ounce of flesh and bone in my body told me to bolt the other way as fast as my legs could carry me -but behind me was the sea. There was nowhere to run.
The black parrot cawed down loudly at me from atop his master's shoulder, as if mocking me, just like his master.
I now understood perfectly how I'd been found. Cain needn't have chased after me himself, not when he could send his trusty, clearly-trained pet to track my every move and swiftly report back. Worse even, he didn't even have to bother sending Iago to keep a close eye on me. Unless I could swim all the way back to New York, I wasn't going anywhere and we both knew it excruciatingly well.
Damn, I want a trusty pet too. And Cain is certainly not sparing any effort in making himself appear like a classic comic book villain.
"Why are you in such a hurry? It's not like you're going anywhere." He eyed my bad leg pointedly and then grinned down at me. His scorn and disdain were worse than the bleeding gash in my foot.
Seeing Cain, I'd forgotten about the wound. But now the pain rushed back, a searing ache resonating from the center of my foot.
"I prefer to know who I'm dealing with." I said.
Tell me who you are, damn you to the fiery pits of Hell. Tell me!
A second voice's words echoed in the recesses of my mind: Do you really dare find out?
From the moment I'd laid eyes on him, I'd known that Cain was of a different ilk than all the bad guys I'd encountered in prison. He outshined them all in his evil genius. To have managed to one up Schneizel like that...
I never thought I'd see the day someone outsmarted and hurt King Satan.
Schneizel's distraught face flashed in my mind. His heartrending cries of my name were trapped in my eardrums, haunting me.
Something told me this had nothing to do with me, and everything to do with Schneizel.
What was Cain's connection to Schneizel?
Rivals? Clearly, but I wanted -needed- to know more if I was going to figure a way to get off this island and find Schneizel.
"That depends wholly on you." His blue eyes flashed dangerously.
The sensitive flesh of my cheek still remembered the sting of his slap. Not even my own mother had slapped me like that, and I'd grown up in a rough house.
Be obedient, or be beaten.
That was basically what he was saying to me.
"You can be my guest and I your gracious host, or you can be my prisoner and I your jailer. The choice is entirely yours, Aiden." I shuddered to hear the sound of my name coming from his lips, like the hiss of a venomous cobra. And as if he just remembered it, he added, "Oh, but I must warn you-"
"Oh, God, what?"
"-the latter entails a few blowjobs now and then, maybe more."
"Guest! I'll be your guest!"
"Excellent!" He reached out a hand for me to take. "Now, let's get that leg cleaned up. Come now."
Reluctantly and after a few moments' hesitation, I accepted it against my heart's wishes and my brain's warnings. What choice did I have? I'd be slapped or beaten or worse if I didn't oblige my captor.
After all, I wasn't sure what my worth as a hostage was yet. I dreaded to think what he'd do to me once I fulfilled my purpose.

I feel the first signs of a depression setting in cause I'm so overworked and have so much on my plate right now. It literally took me 50 minutes to publish this chapter (all I had to do was copy/paste the chapter), but I had to get up and do stuff so many times in between, I feel dizzy as I'm writing this.
I may soon start posting only on Patreon for a while because Goddamn.
Btw, if anyone is interested in finishing The Prison's first book, it's completed on my Patreon and I've already started posting the second book there, in addition to exclusive stories and NSFW content.
