The Demon War

Chapter 17 (Aubry Arc)

As always, we were in P.E. class just chilling. "Hey, Aubry!" Cael shouted passing the basketball to Aubry. Aubry grabs it and bounces it a couple of times before jumping up to the basket slam dunking it. The angels and elves begin to cheer and clap, it's really fun watching others play. But it does make me wonder, it's this how Aubry elf life works? "Hey, Aubry!" I shouted. Aubry looks at me before slowly walking up to me. "Hey, Gabe! How are you doing?" Aubry asked as I gave him a thumbs up. "I do have a question, how is your elf life?" I asked. I remember him telling me that he doesn't wanna talk about his life, at least after the demon war. "Well, I can tell you before..." Aubry said smiling to himself before sitting next to me. 

"We honestly play a lot of sports. From basketball to football, we'd just play all day. We would also train with our arrows" Aubry show me his arrow smiling. "But for the most part, we would spar with each other" Aubry said looking at the sky. "Our military is full of fun, but they can be very serious" Aubry sighs leaning back slightly, "Well, until the demon war, that's where they change...but I don't wanna say why yet," Aubry said while slowly getting up looking at me with a painful look. "Once you earn my trust, I can tell you" Aubry would say before walking off. 

"Oh? I didn't know elves do that" Cael would say while doing some pushups. "I know, it's surprising how elves do sports but also spar" I'd say in amazed. "But, I want to know what happened to them after the demon war. I have to earn his trust though, how?" I look at the computer slowly begin to think. "Maybe talk to him more?" Cael would say walking up to me. "That's how I earn his trust" Cael sits next to me grabbing my computer. "H-Hey!" I shouted as Cael chuckled, "Sorry, but I need it. I need to practice my ability a bit more" He said before beginning to type.

The next day, I was walking around the hallways looking for more people to talk to. "Maybe they can explain the aftermath of the demon-huh?" I could hear some fighting going on in the elf hall. "Heh, we talking to a weakling" One said kicking the elf to the wall. The other two begin to punch the elf repeatedly. "Hey, stop!" I shouted running in, I grab one by the shirt and throws him to the wall. The other two looks at me their eyes widen, "I-It's Cael's friend, Gabriel!" One shouted, they both then ran off. "You oka-Aubry?!" My eyes widen as I look at Aubry in shock. Aubry sighs, "Just another day...in the elf hallway, Gabe" Aubry slowly looks at me. I gently help Aubry up before pulling him to a hug. "..." Aubry looks down slowly hugging back, "Gabe, am I weak? Am I...a nobody?" Aubry asked me as I shake my head. "You're somebody, you're our friend," I said gently rubbing Aubry's hair. "You said you wanted to know more about my culture, especially after the demon war? Well...meet me outside of the gym at midnight.." Aubry said before gently getting off of me walking off. I stare at his back, maybe he's gonna tell me a bit more about his culture and probably about himself? In any case, I walked off preparing myself for tonight.
