The silence in her apartment was disturbed by the shrill of her phone. Mary almost fell of the bed trying to find it. The sun wasn't up yet,and the streets were still coverd with a blanket of fresh fallen snow.
Hello. she answered the blaring phone with a groggy voice.
Mary. the distressed voice of her mother came through her phone. It's David, he he he had an accident, John was with him. I need you here. Please Mary, i'm in Mass Gen. said her distressed mother.
Alice, i'll be there in 20 OK. I'll be quick. answered a much more awake Mary.
Don't drive to fast, i don't want you to come to the hospital because of your accident. said an histeric Alice.
Don't worry, i'll be carefull. See you in 20. Bye. She said ending the phone call.
A movement by the other side of the bed snapped of the worrying hase after the call. The sleepy face of Brook came into view. Her pouty lips parting with a yawn, her blue eyes heavy with sleep look bach at Mary. What was it? Something happened? Is Alice ok?
Alice is ok. My brother and John had an accident. I have to go to Mass Gen. I'm starting to get tired of that hospital. answered Mary to her sleepy wife.
Do you want me to go with you? I can take Rachel to my mom's, she would have her there, it's christmas or almost after all. said Brook kissing Mary reassuringly.
No. I'll go. You stay here and sleep a bit more. You don't need to go. Call your mother to come and have a day with you and Rachel, i'll call after i find out what happened. Ok? Mary said getting out of the bed and making her way to the closet.
Half an hour later she was making her way into the Mass Gen's corridors.
I'm looking for David Ericson, he came after an accident, can you tell me were is his room? Mary asked the nurse behind the desk.
And you are, miss?
I'm Mary Ericson, his sister, were is he? Please. she asked the all too unnerving nurse.
Mr Ericson is in the room 143, go to the left, fourth door to the right. the nurse motioned to her.

She said she would call after she found out what happened.
I hope that they are ok, Alice would be destroyed if David died after all that they lived through. I know i would fell empty if you did. said Grace wiping her tears and hugging Brook.
I fell the same if it happened to Rachel. Brook replied sadly.

So doctor, what can you say to us about his condition? asked Mary to her brother's doctor.
He was touch and go, he had bleedings all over his body. We are worried with the head injury and the broken legs and hip. We can only wait for the best. He is in a medical induced coma so he can recuperate more easily. We will have to see if he gets through the next 48hours without further complications. Dr. Birliam answered with a worried face. We'll have to wait.
Can you tell me about John Rushmond, the other victim, David's fiancé. He works here, he is a cardio surgeon. asked an anxious Alice from the chair on the right side of David's bed.
The answer came almost if someone had choked Dr. Birliam. I'm sorry, but John didn't make it through the surgery, he died of multiple organ failure.
The only answer to his revelation were the shoked gasps from the two women in the room.

Brook's phone beeped making her jump of the couch to answer it. Hello, love?
Brook. she listened to the weeping breath that Mary took in the other side. John is dead. David is in a coma. The doctor said that we need to wait. said now a soobing Mary.
I'll come and take you home, your mother is coming with us, you both need to feel home. I'll take care of you. said Brook trying to reasure her soobing wife. I'll be there in 30 minutes love, ok?
Ok. was the whispered answer.

Noooooooo, it can't be. I was there with him, he can't be dead. shouted an anguished male voice.
He didn't make it of the OR , he was too far gone to survive. You as a nurse know better then anyone that with the injuries that he had he would most probably die. You and i both knew it. answered another male voice.
He is your son, your only son Richard. My fiancé. He can not be dead. Whispered a mourning male voice.
Son, John is dead. I know it hurts you. It hurts me too, but i can't stay in denial any longer, and you can't do it too. You have to move on, even if you move just an inch by day, you have to do it David. answered the older man.
Where is mother, i want to see her. asked David to Richard.
She went to grab a coffee for her and Sebastian. They will be back in a minute. answered the older man.
After two minutes the door opened letting Alice and Sebastian in the room.
David wanted to have a time with you Alice. said Richard I'll be with Sebastian in the cafeteria if you need something.
Alice nodded knowingly.
And they left the room for the mother and son.
What i'm going to do without him, mom? David asked soobing on his mother's shoulder.
Let the time help healing you son. We always have to mourn before getting life back together, it's your time to mourn. Let it all out. said Alice hugging her son with tears coming from her eyes. Let it all out. she whispered.
