After the weeding Alice and Sebastian took their honeymoon in a cabin up north of Boston. Coming back a week later Sebastian was ready to finalize the adoption process of the 8 year old tweens, Mathias and Luana. The tweens lost their parents in a shootout 5 years ago in Boston's Harbor leaving them in the custody of the state. Sebastian and Alice started the process of adoption a year ago after Sebastian decided that he wanted to adopt and rise a family with the love of his life,Alice.
The newly weeded couple arrived at the adoption centre and waited for the papers to be signed, so they could finaly take their children home. An hour later the four members of the Mauri family came out of the centre ready for a new beginning.
Dad, were are we going? asked a nervous Mathias to Sebastian.
We are going to the icecream parlor, get some icecream and then we are going to get cleaned up and later we will meet with Mary and her wife. replied Sebastian sneaking a look through the review mirror.
Mary has a wife? Luana asked timidly.
A wife and a daughter. answered Alice.
Why? Why does she have a wife and not a husband? We had a mom and a dad, my dad said that women couldn't have kids without men. asked a curious boy.
She has a wife because she loves her wife and not a man. answered Alice.
And women and men can have children without having to marry the father or mother of the child. continued Sebastian.
Do you think that it is a bad thing, liking people of the same sex? asked Alice.
My mom and dad said that those who did were going to suffer alot, because they were living out of the way of their God. answered Mathias.
Well son, your parents were wrong about that because you will not suffer for loving someone of the same sex or gender, you will suffer if you don't respect and follow your feelings and don't acknowledge and respect others feelings. It isn't important if they are men or women, it matters if you have a special place for them in you, and if they have the same for you. People who don't see it are afraid that others will be happier then them by following their hearts and not their religious geberish. said Sebastian.
Our point is if you find someone that will have you no matter what, who you are or what others say about you, you will be a lucky person. said Alice No one has the right to say that you are wrong on loving another person, not us, not your friends, not even a stranger, if you love someone and that someone loves you back there's nothing wrong with it.
After stopping for icecream Sebastian decided that they could spend a bit of their time by the park and then go refresh themselves for dinner. The kids played around the park, on the swings,the slide and the rotating chairs while Alice and Sebastian basked the sun light and watched them.
An hour later them headed home for the rest of the evening. Mathias and Luana were curious about their new house, they run throught the front door stopping by the living room taking in the pastel tones of the walls and the dark brown furneture. Sebastian was right behind them with his arms full of bags of groceries while Alice was still taking the kids bags out of the car.
After exploring the bottom floor of the house the kids went up the stairs to see their new rooms. Mathias room was decorated with bright green walls, his favorite color, the bed was white with a forest green comforter and pastel sheets, the rest of the furniture was white or light brown and the carpet was sea green colored.
On the other side of the corridor Luana opened her room's door seeing the red comforter,her favorite color, on her new light brown bed, the crisp salmon sheets, the red and rosed walls behind her light brown desk and closet on the light red carpeted floor. The kids spent the rest of the evening in their rooms getting ready to meet the rest of their new family.
