This is an ode
To all the broken dreams
I gave up on
Because I was too scared
Too scared of failing
Of being embarrassed,
Of not being good enough,
Of not being strong enough
This is an ode
To all the broken dreams
I never forgot
But never think about
Think about the missed successes
About the abandoned joys
About the happy moment
That I'll never have
This is an ode
To all the broken dreams
That never seem to let go off me
Like I never let go off them
Even after I gave up
This sparkling hope
Never left me
Even in the darkest moment
A hope that maybe one day
I'll be strong enough
I'll be brave enough
I'll be sane enough
This is an ode
To all the dreams
That grew up with me
Giving me hope when the tears fell at night
