Chapter 41 - Missing Her!!

Ivan's P.O.V.

I seated myself on the mat and just looked at the view in front of me. The beautiful view of pure serenity and bliss. Joe brought all of us to this small hilly area in the outskirts of the city. Sitting here looking at the city, the clouds and feeling the cold breeze against my cheeks, I could feel tiredness leaving my body. I never knew I needed a break this badly.

I looked back and saw Emma, Joe and Troy arrange food items on the mat. I stared at Aiden who was sitting next to me enjoying his cotton candy.

"Do you love them?", I asked and he grinned.

"I vowe em", he said and I laughed. How adorable is he?

I picked him up in my arms. "You're special to me. You're my favourite teacher's son. I'll always protect you. I promise", I said. He must not have understood anything but he just laughed and kissed my cheeks. I hugged him.

I love this kid.

Joe came and sat next to me. I put Aiden on my other side and he started playing with the grass. I looked at Joe. She entwined our hands together and placed her head on my arm. She looked in the infinity.

"Ivan, can I say something?", She asked.

"Sure", I replied. I was looking in front as well.

"Thanks for not giving up on me", she said squeezing my hand a bit. I looked at her. She gave me a small smile.

"Thanks for accepting me as well", I said and she grinned. She kissed my cheeks and lay her head back on my arm.

"Do you know? I realised your love towards me when I was away from you", she said.

"You never left my mind for once in the past", I said.

But you think about Hazel now, my mind commented.

Go away!

"Tell me one thing. Why did you stop calling me with my nickname? You used to call me Forest, remember", She said.

Oh, he's busy calling someone else Hazel, said my inner self.

Get lost.

"I like calling you Joe now", I said.

"But you never call Vena by her name. Why do you call her Hazel?", She asked. My eyes widened. How did she know? Maybe it must have slipped from my mouth in front of her.
