Rae's POV

"Not realising it sooner?" I ask, sitting down on the sofa.
"Yeah... I overheard you and Virgil talking and I heard you putting yourself down. I just- I told her the truth and she was understanding about it."
"Where do you want to go from here?"
"How do you feel? About it."
"I mean... I really like you. I just don't know what to do."
"What if we went out... on a date?"
"I'd like that. I just don't want to be disrespectful to the girl who you introduced us to."
"You aren't. I explained everything and she's fine."
"I just never expected you to say any of it... she's so much prettier than me-"
"Rae, no. You're perfect in your own way."
"Can we order some food or something? I ask, trying to change the subject.
"You always do that."
"What?" I question, scrolling through just eat.
"Changing the subject."
"Shut up."

We went on to have the best night. We got take out dessert too and talked for hours. We also watched an unimaginable amount of Netflix on top of that. By the time we finished a series, i turned to my phone and the time read ~ 1230am.

"Do you want to stay over?" I ask and feed Marley and let him out into the garden.
"I mean if that's alright with you." He replies.
"Fine by me. Just know, Marley kicks you in the night if you intrude on his bit of the bed... which is ninety five percent of it." I start laughing and watch Marley come back in and finish off his food.

By the time I finished my skin care for the night (I have to, my skin is the absolute worst), Trent was half asleep, Marley resting near his knee.
"You know that date?" He asks, lifting an arm up so I could put my head on his shoulder.
"Yeah?"
"Tomorrow night? I have an idea where I could take you."
"Sure. Just let me know what to wear and how much I need to bring." I smile, stroking Marley as he chews whatever toy he was messing with.
"You don't need to bring anything except your phone. It's on me."
"Are you sure?" I reply, yawning.
"I am."

Next morning

We didn't have training to attend today after having won over the weekend. We had today and tomorrow off before having a full day in Friday. I can't wait, but I also enjoy having that time to ourselves every so often.

"So I'll probably run home about dinner time to get ready if that's good with you?" Trent asks, having only just noticed I was awake.
"That's fine. What time should I be ready?" I reply, dragging myself out of bed.
"About five."
"Okay." I smile. "I'm gonna put food on and let Marley out."

I sit thinking. How is my brother going to react? Because even just as he signed for Liverpool, he made me promise that I would never date one of his team mates - incase he had to hate them and then put unnecessary pressure on the team.
I knew the guys would all be happy for us. I'm also stupidly nervous because it means I'm going to have to tell him what happened with Joel, the baby, the court case and the fall out after. I couldn't be anymore nervous-

"Rae!" I snap out of it and Trent was putting my hand under the sink - the freezing cod tap.
"What?" I mumbled, not really realising what I'd done.
"What on earth did you do?" He asks, getting an ice pack for my hand.
"I got distracted.."
"I gathered. What were you thinking about?"
"I can't tell you, not yet anyway.."
"I'm here anytime you need it. Sit down, I'll finish off the food."

I sit with Marley, who coincidentally puts his toy on my lap - indicating that he thinks I'm sad. I mean I am, but I'm not.
"Here." He says, handing me food.
"Thanks." I smile, knowing he wanted me to talk about it.
"Anytime you want to talk about anything, I've got you okay?"
"Thank you." I hug him before eating the food.

He'd headed off to go and get ready. So I did the same. I got in the shower, before doing my skincare routine. I then tied my hair in a bun to do it after my make up. My make up was simple as per usual, but I just added more in certain areas. I curled my hair before changing into my outfit. I wore black jeans with a white lace body suit. I had a white bag to put my purse and phone in, before putting on my white heels. He said smart casual and considering I hadn't been on a date in so long, I was way out my depth. I panicked and called Virgil.

"Hey midget." He replies laughing as he answers the call.
"I'm not small. You're just freakishly tall."
"I am not!" He protests.
"Anyway. I've not been on a date in a while and he said smart casual.. does this look alright?" I ask, spinning the camera around.
"I'm not the person to ask, more Mo. But whoever it is is very lucky, you look amazing."
"Do I?"
"Yes Rae. Who's the lucky man then?"
"You aren't going to believe me."
"Go on."
"It's Trent."
"Shut up."
"Yeah.. I'll fill you in at training."
"You next do. Have fun. Call me if you need anything."
"I will. Thank you!"

As the call ends, Trent arrives. Which leaves me no time to call Mo and quiz him on his fashion sense. I answer the door, all whilst shaking, he smiles at me.
"You look amazing." He says, before I'd even chance to say hi.
"So do you" I reply. He really did. He had black jeans on and a white shirt loosely done paired with some black shoes.
"Let me say hi to Marley before we head off." He tells me while greeting Marley. "Ready?" He asks before helping me up and we go out to his car.

I'd no idea whatsoever to expect. But all I did know, was that I was stupidly excited and happy to actually get to know him and spend the time with him that I wanted to.
