Rae's POV

Today is the day Trent is due to leave for international duty. He was adamant he wanted to stay, but I had to strike a few deals in order to see it out. He'd hardly left my side since I came home from the hospital, so it would not only do him good, but also it meant he could actually hang out with his friends whilst being able to work properly.

He insisted on a few things. One was that I have someone visit me at least once per day and a phone call to him so he could check I was okay. That if I needed him I'd call him or call someone that was nearby. The most important to him, was that if in any way shape or form I landed myself back in hospital he'd be the first one I contacted - or England, who would then tell him. He also insisted that England let him keep his phone on him during training or leave it with somebody he knew and trusted. To be honest, England had been more than accommodating and understanding and more than bent the rules for him.

His family offered to check on me once or so a day, which I never expected but was also looking forward to. I was supposed to be going back to Liverpool so slowly get back into it, but even the thought of it genuinely sends my anxiety through the roof and I can't even consider it - so to combat this, Ive been using FaceTime and so on to keep in contact with players and give strict instructions.

I was lying on my bed with Marley, watching T pack.
"I don't have to go Rae. England said they wouldn't mind." He protests, looking at me.
"You're going. You need this. It's your career and I'm not holding you back. We're not undoing all the hard work the club has put into helping me fight the media."
"I know.. but what if you need anything? Or me.."
"Your family are checking on me once a day and I agreed to call you once too!"
"I know.. I know."
"I'm going to miss you way too much but you seriously have to go."
"I don't though. They said-"
"I know what they said T! You don't see it and won't see it right now but when you get there you will. Hurry up and get packed, your mums coming soon and so is Jord to pick you up."

He gives in and finishes off packing. I insisted on helping in some way, so I resorted to packing his carry on bag for him. He also makes me let him piggy back me downstairs, even though I can do it perfectly fine, I'm just a little slower at it. I was still having to go to physio and stuff to help out.
We sit on the sofa and he's currently lying with his head on my shoulder and I was just messing around with his hair. We were watching some random documentary too.

'I genuinely think you may have to carry him to the car and lock it. He's insisting he wants to stay🥺'
'Jord - I'm down for it if it's necessary. I don't want to leave you either but we have to😕'
'I know! But his family are checking in on me once a day and he's making me call him too🙂' I attached a video of how we were right now and I just simply asked T if he was still going and he mumbles no, before pulling me closer to him whilst still being careful.
'Jord - I didn't think he'd be that bad. He's normally like an excitable puppy for international duties because he sees all his mates from elsewhere'
'He's been so clingy over the past few days and I've had to force him to leave the house. I actually don't know what to do when it comes to it and it's time for him to go. His mums due here soon and I genuinely think he's not going to leave'
'Jord - oh he will. I have reinforcements 😂'
'Like?'
'Jord - Team mates of his he doesn't know I've picked up before him'
'Ox?'
'Jord - Bingo. See you soon, is he packed?'
'See you soon! Yeah he is x'

Soon, there was a knock and he instantly freezes. I open my phone to look at the doorbell and it's his mum. He doesn't move.
"T, it's your mum. Open it or I will."
"Fine." He mumbles before getting up and disappearing before then reappearing with his mum following close behind who quickly hugs me and says hello.
"Hi." I smile back at her. "Please will you talk some sense into him?" I ask and she nods, gaze falling upon her son who had immediately fallen right back into the spot he'd been sat in with me for the last two hours.

Time passes and eventually there's another knock, indicating my brother is here. This time, T completely freezes and just looks at me.
"I'm not going." He says, folds his arms.
"Yes you are."

I look up and they're already carrying his bags to the car. I stand up and he hugs me.
"I promise I'll call you if I need anything okay? You made me promise as it was to call you everyday as it was."
"I'm not leaving." He insists still, starting to take off his shoes.

My brother puts him over his shoulder and out they go to the car. It was quite funny in a way, but it also wasn't. Ox gets in and locks it from the inside so Jordan can get the last few things.

"Thank you." I smile at him. "He doesn't get it now but he will. He needs a break."
"When did you grow up?" He asks before hugging me. "Make sure you call if you need anything!"

Third Person POV

"Oh come on Trent lighten up." Jordan tells Trent, who was currently staring out the window of the back seat of Jordan's car - which was also locked by child lock.
"I'm not speaking to you." He replies and carries on staring out the window.
"You know you needed it and wanted to go deep down Trent." Ox adds.
"The same applies to you."

They give in, knowing he was probably going to be rather unreasonable for a few hours yet. He tries to ask for his phone, but they stick to giving him it once he's on the bus. Just incase he tries to book and Uber home. They put the bags under the coach and he's still not speaking a word to either of them.
He sits right at the front of the bus on the upper deck away from most of the players.

"Just leave him for a bit." Jordan tells them and they seemingly agree. "I'll explain later."
They arrive at the second meet point and then the Manchester based players are on board.

Marcus and Jesse sit in front of Trent, knowing they could probably bring him round.
"Leave it out boys." He mumbles, staring out the window.
"No. You need to cheer up. You know she's going to be totally fine."
"You don't understand." He replies quietly.
"No, we don't. But don't ruin this for yourself, it's not worth it Trent."
"She's everything." He says, hitting his hand against the table, making a small bang. "She even told me she thought that was it and she wanted me to make sure I took care of Marley and asked me to do things for her."
"That must have been fucking hard brother. But you need to realise that she's totally fine. Call her right now if you must, but cheer up. You know damn well deep down Jordan and Ox did the right thing dragging you here even if you were practically kicking and screaming."
