Rae's POV

We had the best time over Christmas and it was now time to go back to work after the Christmas break. Trent would be leaving in two weeks so I was also trying to spend a little more time with him. Ever since I woke up this morning, I can't shake a really uneasy feeling like something bad was about to happen. Unable to shake it, I decide to bring Marley to training with me.
It's Trent's turn to pick us up today, so whilst we wait, I feed Marley and have a small snack myself.

"Hi." I smiled as we got in his car. My smile soon dropped as I realised he seemed pretty tense. "Everything okay?" He doesn't respond and he just starts to drive. "T?" I'd adopted the new nickname for him over the break.
"Where were you last night?" He asks quietly, a firm, tight grip on the steering wheel.
"At home. You know I was. Why?"
"Open that." He snarls, passing me his phone.

I unlock the phone to discover the DM. It's a few pictures of me kissing another guy. But when you actually examine the picture closely, it's just pictures of me with Joel, photoshopped to make him look slightly different.
"You don't honestly believe that do you?" I ask, feeling hurt.
"I don't know. Pictures are pretty much evidence.."
"Thanks Trent. Thanks a lot." I replied quietly.

I guessed he'd started to feel bad as he tried to hold my hand and apologise. I moved away and as we pulled up, I got out. I was trying my hardest not to cry in front of any of the boys that were stood outside the front doors, so I quickly headed into my office with Marley following behind me.

Third Person POV

As soon as Trent and Rae pulled up, the other players knew something wasn't right. They're always laughing, singing or doing something to indicate they were happy. But today was the polar opposite - there wasn't any music, there wasn't any laughing or joking. They weren't even holding hands.

"Somethings happened." Virgil points out.
"Doesn't look good." Mo adds.

They watch Rae head inside as Trent gets out his car. He punches the side of his vehicle, not leaving any damage to himself do the vehicle.
"That was a bit stupid Trent." Ox tells him.
"Not the time."
"What's happened?"

Rae's POV

My heart feels like it's splitting into a million tiny pieces as I walk into the office. I lock the door and start crying pretty much immediately. Marley tries his usual tricks of trying to cheer me up.
Whilst trying to calm myself, there was a knock at the door. I pat down my make up to try and make it look like I wasn't crying, but it didn't make much of a difference.

"Who is it?" I ask, getting up.
"Virg." He falls through the door. I open it up and let him in. "What happened?"
"He thinks I cheated on him." I replied, my heart sinking.
"He's stupid."
"The pictures are believable. They're of me with Joel, except he's been photoshopped to look slightly different."
"But he should know you'd never do anything like that."
"The way he reacted, he did believe it."
"Rae, he's an idiot. I'll speak to him after training and I'll take you home. Okay?"
"You don't have to do that Virg. I can get an Uber."
"You're not getting one of those. Not when we can drop you off safely. You never know with those things." He hugs me and just as he does, he has to go to training.
"Let Jurgen know I won't be long. I just need to finish up the report he requested and I'll be with you all."
"Will do. I'll tell him to stay away okay?"
"Thank you."

After about ten minutes, one of the receptionists came steaming into my office with a look of sheer terror on her face.
"Rae, we've had a serious security breach. The other receptionists got out and the boys are all being protected by security. They're all outside..." she says, panicking.
"Are you kidding?" I ask quietly, wondering whether it was a practical joke that wasn't funny in any way.
"No-" I look outside the window and spot three lads all armed with guns and knives. The feeling of the hair standing up on the back of my neck combined with the fear, I got us down on the ground. I shut the blinds carefully and looked around my room for things to use. We managed to find loads of cable ties I'd used for a project and stuff to protect ourselves with.

"We need to split them apart. Okay?" I tell her.
"What?!"
"I'm fighting this." I reply. I look up onto my desk for anything I could throw and find my stationary. I pick up a little rubber and wait by the door, leaving it slightly open. I signal to the other girl to wait just behind me. I throw the rubber as the man walks past us and he comes into my office where we begin a small fight, but luckily I pin him on the ground and she cable ties his wrists and feet so he can't move and attached him one around the radiator.

One of the thugs had gone towards where I assume the boys were being held. So I took this opportunity to fight and pin the second one, where I attached him in my office and the the table leg. Neither of them were going anywhere. We lock the door to be doubly certain and I tell her to leave and get a message out if the police hadn't already been contacted.

I catch sight of all the boys and there was only two guards with them. So they were seriously underpowered against a man with knives and guns. A few of them clock me about to jump on him and start shaking their heads and attempting to signal for me to stop.

I jump onto him and we immediately begin fighting. Eventually, I threw a punch and he went down so I grabbed a cable tie and attached him to a nearby radiator.

The boys start to come up to me, but because I had a serious adrenaline rush, I didn't realise I'd had any form of injury. As I'm stood at the side of Trent, not caring about the days events, I start to feel really light headed and it's starting to become extremely painful. I'd adopted holding my hand over my hip without myself knowing and as I lifted my hand away, all I could see was just blood.

"T..." I mumbled, pulling his jacket. But he wasn't listening. "T.."
"Rae-" he turns to me and any form of emotion just drains from his face as he realises what's happened. I fall onto him and he sits with me and practically cradles me in his lap. He'd torn off his jacket and holding it to the wound. I was drifting in and out of some state.
"Rae, you need to keep talking to us." The medic tells me as she's putting another jumper the previous one.
"Trent.." I mumble, knowing what I needed to say.
"I love you. If anything happens, I need to know Marley's safe... please take care of him."
"You don't get to do that Rae. You're not leaving us. You're my everything."
"Just promise me."
"You know I would." He replies, holding out his pinky finger.

Third Person POV

As Raelynn fell quiet, talking costing her too much energy, the other players were outside, not having a clue what was going on and why the pair hadn't joined them.
As Trent shouted to get those closest to her back inside the building, now fearing the absolute worst, the medics were desperately trying to find out where the ambulance was and doing the best they can to try and save her life.

The players that had come back into the building took a look at the sight in front of them. They all circled round her and just made her aware they were there.
"Rae, you need to keep talking to us." The medics told her and Trent tightened his grip on the jumper he'd ripped off himself over her injury.
"I can't..." she mumbles, sounding very raspy.

The worry carried on for the boys and they soon started to hear an ambulance in the near distance.
"Rae, they're here." Trent says, trying to get her to respond. He quickly realises that she's now completely unconscious.

He picks her up and starts to run. The door was held open by security, having seen the young player running towards them. The ambulance had barely stopped by the time he got to them. The last the players saw of the two was them going inside and the doors shutting. It was a few minutes before it set off.

The players all agreed they were going to go and wait, no matter how long it took. They knew she was an absolute warrior and would make it through. They wanted to be there for Trent - they also decided to call his Mum and then call their own families to let them know they were okay.
