It was dark inside the club, making it hard to point out any distinguishing features on patrons milling about. Alastor had wrapped an arm around my waist, looking possessive of me as we crossed the dance floor to a private room in the back. If I was being honest, I was grateful for the support. I was a fish out of water here.
Two burly looking bouncers stood guard at the door. However, when they saw the infamous Radio Demon they automatically stepped aside. Apparently Alastor scared them more than their boss. A good note, if any.
"Hey, who the fuck told you that you could come in here?" Fred's growl pointed to his spot where he was sprawled out on a white couch with a scantily dressed girl next to him. Despite Hell turning him into a demon, he was as fat and ugly as ever. I fought the urge to lunge for his throat.
Alastor's cool demeanor set the pace as he said, "Ah, you must be Fred. My friend said you would be here tonight. You're just the man I was hoping to talk to."
Fred's fat face looked confused as he tried to puzzle out if Alastor was making fun of him or not. Apparently he was as dumb as ever.
Moving us closer, Alastor's grip on my waist tightened as he said, "I was told you were the man to talk to where certain investments were concerned."
It took Fred a moment, but a light bulb finally clicked overhead. Good lord this man was slower than Internet Explorer.
"Yeah, I know how to keep 'em in line," Fred bragged, relaxing now that he thought Alastor was stroking his ego, "I didn't think the Radio demon would have any problem keeping his bitches in line though."
Alastor grinned, "My dear friend, as far as 'keeping them in line' is concerned, you are most certainly the expert."
Fred snorted, pushing the girl next to him off the couch, "Well I can give you a few pointers if you like. Trisha, take Alastor's date and go get us a couple of drinks. The men need to talk."
