Namjoon POV
I couldn't help but feel anxious the whole morning. Jin still hasn't called me and I've been worried sick about what the court is going to do. I knew damn well they weren't gonna give Jin's kids to her for one, no that's not what the meeting is about. Why did it take so long for the police to finally investigate her?
What baffles me is that Jin never mentioned a word about turning her over to the police...Unless he did and there's something else he's hiding from me.
"Namjoon? There's someone here to see you." The lovely receptionist, Ji-Woo said, peeking into my office.
I nodded and motioned for her to let them in. Jin walked in with some takeout and I grinned. Seeing him always makes any slow day better.
"Hi baby." I said, taking the bag from his hand and setting it on the little table in my office.
"Hi honey. How's your day going?" He replied as I closed the door.
I walked over and took out some takeout, "It was slow but it's better now. How was the meeting?"
He sat in the chair across from my desk and I leaned down and pecked his lips, "Well, the hearing won't be until the end of February to determine what kind of sentence she'll recieve." He replied.
I nodded, "What else?"
"I'm really pissed off after what I found out. So, after our divorce I turned her over to the authorities. Turns out, the charges never went through like her mother and lawyer said they did. Her father actually persuaded the court to drop the charges and paid the lawyer and everyone involved in the case to write her off." He explained.
My jaw dropped, "Are you serious?"
He nodded and angrily stabbed a piece of chicken with his fork, "They promised me justice would be served to my children, they lied. You know during the meeting her parents never once asked about Taehyung and Jimin?"
I shook my head, "What a bunch of assholes."
"I'm so pissed off right now! I can't even see straight. She's currently being charged with child abuse, drug and alcohol abuse, trespassing, harrassment, and she has two DUI's hanging over her head."
"You know her parents can be charged as well? It's very illegal to pay someone in the legal system to write off someone without the plantiff's permission. It's called embezzlement."
He just looked at me, "Wait really?"
"Mhm. You'd have to pay a fine and get prison time for it, it's like 3-5 years or something depending on the crime."
"So that must be why her dad got arrested after the meeting...."
"Wait he got arrested?"
He nodded, "He didn't seem too happy about it."
"They must have found out then, "I said, "and now they're gonna pay."
Jin grinned, "You sound like some sort of superhero."
I smirked, "Am I a sexy superhero?"
He bit his lip, "Superman is pretty hot, so you have some competition."
