On a normal school day, students would go back to class after lunch, but today was the first day, so everybody was encouraged to walk around and get a feel for the campus. Steve, the social kid and team-leader that he was, suggested that the group walk round the campus together.

"You guys go ahead." Clint told them. "I gotta check my phone first."

"Kay. We'll meet you on the quad at two?" Steve asked.

"Yeah." Clint replied.

Clint pulled out his phone to text Wanda Maximoff, his childhood best friend.

Clint

Hey Wanda, how you doing?

Wanda

Good, you?

Clint

Did you get in?

To the Academy?

Wanda

Of course I got in, dude!

I have my weird psychy powers! >w<

Clint laughed. Wanda and her twin brother Pietro had been involved in unauthorized experiments from the Sokovian government at age 12, resulting in Pietro being able to run really fast and Wanda having all sorts of magical abilities. It was fairly easy for Pietro to control his speed, but Wanda's powers were harder to maintain, and she sometimes lost control when she was scared or angry. Wanda had spent most of her life after the experiments feeling like a freak, and Clint was glad that she was now feeling comfortable enough to joke about them.

Wanda

Who'd you get for a roommate?

Clint

This guy named Steve. You would like him, he's a good person.

Who's your roommate?

Wanda

Carol Danvers.

She was in a plane crash accident as a kid, now she can fly and shoot blasts of energy out of her hands.

Clint smiled to himself. He was happy for Wanda that she finally found someone that she could relate to. Even in their group, Clint and Pietro could only do so much, and this Carol girl sounded like her powers were somewhat similar to Wanda's.

Clint

She sounds so cool!

Wanda

She is. We're getting along rlly well.

Clint

That's great, I'm so happy for you.

Wanda

Thank yoo!!! <3

Clint

Np

How's the kid doing?

Wanda

He's doing good.

Really excited to be here.

Clint smiled again. He had always called Pietro "the kid" for some reason probably because of his high energy and constant enthusiasm. Clint could easily imagine him running all over the place in excitement.

Wanda

We should all meet up sometime.

It's been forever since me or Pietro have seen you in person.

Clint blamed the court for that. Part of the reason that his friends were willing to partake in the experiments was because their parents had died, and after the experiments the government had moved them to a facility for displaced kids halfway across the country. The they had still stayed in touch, but it was hard to get together.

Clint

What lunch period do you guys have?

Wanda

Period 5

Clint

Dangitt, I'm period 6.

Wanda

Maybe we'll have some classes together.

Clint

Probably.

And we can see each other after school.

Wanda

Yeah.

I'm so glad that we finally live in the same place again!! ^w^

Clint

Me too :)

The two friends continued to text, talking about the classes they had seen on their first day and the people they'd met. There wasn't much to catch up on, so they ended up just texting each other memes and dumb selfies.

Clint

Shit, I gotta go.

I told some friends I would meet them at 2.

Wanda

Ok

I should probably check in w/ Pietro, we haven't seen each other since we got to our dorms.

Clint

Bye!

Wanda

Bye!!!

Text me later?

Clint

Of course.

"Okay, now where the heck is the quad?" Clint murmured to himself. He walked around the school for a bit before finding a map and jogging off to meet his friends.

"Hey guys." Clint said, once he had arrived.

The whole group was there, even Tony, who he thought had no interest in talking to them. It didn't really matter though, the kid was really into his phone, typing and scrolling furiously as if his life depended on it.

"So, what's the plan?" Clint asked.

"We thought that we'd mostly walk around, see where our classes are so that we won't be totally lost." Steve said.

The group nodded in agreement, and they started walking, with Steve in the lead. Steve kind of seemed like the guy that you would trust to lead you into battle, to take command and give the orders. But he also seemed unused to his role, as he kept falling back and then Bucky would give him a nudge and he would come up to the front again. Natasha was also at the front of the group, eventually helping Bucky nudge Steve up to the front. She was the exact opposite of Steve, she didn't seem like a leader but had a presence that dominated the room, and also seemed totally comfortable with it.

At the very back were Tony and Pepper, with Pepper trying to get Tony to talk and Tony sinking further and further into his phone. Their conversation then switched courses, with Pepper and Tony both being engrossed in his phone and exchanging worried glances.
