Ch. 23

Natasha, Tony, Bucky, and Clint were sitting in science class together, trying to work on a project about plant fungus. As per usual, they weren't getting anything done.

"Bucky." Clint said. "Gimme your scrunchie, I wanna shoot something."

"No." Bucky told him. "You shot the last one into a tree and a squirrel snatched it."

Clint pouted. "Tasha?"

"No."

"Taaaashaaaaa."

"Still no."

"Use this." Tony said, digging a pencil out of his bag.

Clint took the pencil, aimed, and shot it out the window.

"Shit." Tony and Clint said at the same time.

"That was fucking heavy!" Clint said. "What lead did you use?"

"Uhh, shit. That was the pencil I used to shoot at Steve's head. Sorry."

"Tiny, stop cursing!" Bucky hissed as the teacher walked towards their table.

Tony blinked and tried to look as innocent as possible.

The teacher sighed. "Just go stand out in the hall. All of you."

Natasha nodded and led her friends out into the hall like a mother duck escorting her ducklings.

"What do we do now?" Clint asked.

"Anybody wanna go to Starbucks?" Bucky suggested.

"Yeah sure." Natasha said. "Tony?"

"Hang on." Tony said, staring at his phone.

"Text from Ty?" Natasha asked.

"No."

"Text from Steeeeve?"

"No."

"Sext from Steve?" Clint asked.

"What? No!" Tony shouted. "I hacked into the security cams around town and I set up JARVIS to alert me if something weird happens."

"What happened?" Bucky asked.

"There's a-"

"Guys!" Steve yelled, running up to them.

"Steve, calm down." Tony said.

"Shouldn't you be in class?" Natasha asked.

"Fury pulled me out." Steve explained.

"So what happened?" Clint asked.

"There's a hostage situation at the Starbucks downtown." Tony and Steve said at the same time.

"I told you we should've gone to Starbucks!" Bucky said.

"Wait, why are you all not in class?" Steve asked.

"We got kicked out." Tony said.

"I- okay."

"I'm texting Bruce." Tony said.

Clint nodded.

Bruce showed up a minute later with Thor and Loki.

"Where were you guys?" Natasha asked.

"...Project." Bruce said.

"Getting food." Thor said.

The two glared at each other.

"They were getting food because they were working on a project and got hungry." Loki supplied.

Bruce squeaked and nearly jumped a foot.
