Wait... Really?--Chapter 21

The next couple of months seemed to fly. I got back into the ring and held my undefeated record happily. Ace beat almost everyone he faced except for one which was last night and that was my fault. I had distracted him before he fought with the news that I was late on my menstrual cycle. "You're what?" "I'm late... Ace, I think we have a baby..." "Oh my God! Kinley! Tell... Everyone!" "I don't want to tell everyone until I know for sure. This is only the second week late." He had hugged me tight. "Well we can get a test in the morning!" I had smiled and agreed. Then he had lost his fight by decision after 5 rounds. Although he should have won the decision there was one official who didn't see the badass takedown he got in or the awesome McCarty 4/4. Then another who thought that his opponent had landed cleaner blows. They're both blind. When I woke up this morning I went to check if I was on my period or not and the answer was no. Ace was still asleep because it was only 2:15 and I was only awake because I felt sick. I went back and laid down and fell asleep. When I woke up again I felt sick and was hungry for the first time in 20 years. The first 5 of my life I was hungry a lot. "Ace?" He looked at me. "We need tests. I think we might be pregnant." He raised an eyebrow. "Really?!" His excitement level made me smile and he got dressed really quickly. "I'm going to leave you here. Please lock the doors!" He said and I agreed then he left. Lily called me not long after he left.

"Hey babygirl! Where is Ace going so fast?" "The store... To get some stuff I need. To see if I'm pregnant." She squealed and I held the phone away from my head as she told Kk why she was so excited. "Of course! How exciting!" I smiled and told them I'd be back. I put my phone on the bed and went to the bathroom to get sick. My head was killing me and I couldn't help but smile at the idea of a baby. Ace got back and pretty much dragged me to the bathroom. "Here! Here do it!" I grinned and he gave me a test. I took it then set it on the counter to time out. He watched the time on his watch for the entire five minutes and it came back positive. We retested to make sure and had two positive tests. I stood there silently. "Ace... We're going to be parents... What if...?" "No. No person will touch my babies. Either of you. Do you get that? No person." I smiled and hugged him. "Ace, we have to tell the world! Let's go up the street." I said and he grinned. "Fine by me!" I smiled and we left the house. "So... This explains why the dogs have been all protective all of the sudden. Speaking of. Bear is coming with us I think." Ace said and Bear barked once. "Bear is cute."

We got to the house and went inside. Tommy walked over and picked me up. "So a baby huh? Who knew!" I smiled and Ace did too. "I did that." I laughed and after we said hi to everyone we sat down in the living room to talk and Ace seemed to be going 90 to nothing talking about it. "So what room are you going to convert for the baby?" "I think that guest room right next to ours. But of course it would also make sense if we just didn't convert a room and put the baby stuff in our room." Ace said and I looked at him sideways. "The baby has to have a nursery. Even if it doesn't get used. You've seen my notebook, Ace." He smiled. "Oh yeah. Well. Okay then we can convert our next door for him." I smiled and agreed. "Oh. Yeah I should probably go tell Mike that I'm out for nine months." "Good plan. He might want to know." I smiled and went to call Mike. "Hey kid! What's up?" "Well... My weight. But I have good reason!" "Kinley your weight needs to be up anyways. You're too skinny. So what's the reason you're going to give me?" "Oh... Well I mean I can't fight for 9 months anyways so..." "Wait... What?" "Yeah. I mean I can't risk my baby's life."

"Wait... Really?" I nodded. "Yes. I'm pregnant." "Wow! Congrats kid! Are you excited?" "Yeah! I'm kind if freaking out though. It just dawned on me that if a certain group of people find out they'll try to kill me and the baby... And if they do that then Ryan will find out... And I want it to be a surprise for when he comes home." I said and got worried as I thought about it all. "Nobody would let that happen Kinley." "I know... Especially not Mason. He would kill them." "Mason?" "Oh. Sorry. Ace's real name is Mason." I said and he chuckled. "Don't be sorry. Are you still going to come to the house for dinner tomorrow with everyone?" "We wouldn't miss it." I said and his voice sounded happy when he spoke. "Okay! We'll see you then!" "Okay! Bye!" He hung up and I walked back in the house where Ace kissed me as soon as I closed the door. "Kinley... We're having a baby. You're finally getting what you wanted." I smiled and hugged him. "I know!" I started to say that I was excited but my voice trailed off. "What's wrong beautiful?" "I'm just a little worried is all."
