The blood secret

Chapter 13

I woke up the next morning and found Finn next to me, he still had one arm around me and it felt nice. I turned and faced him, he looked peaceful and calm. I moved closer to him but the slight movement woke him, he gently moved his arm as he rolled over. He laid on his back and stared at the ceiling as he rubbed his eyes, a huge yawn escaped his lips as he looked over at me.

"Morning." I said as i smiled at him, not sure what else to say.

"Morning." He replied with a croaky voice, "How'd you sleep?" 

"I slept well, thank you." I said as i got out of bed and sat on the edge. "Thank you for last night, i appreciate it."

"It's fine. Just maybe don't tell Nick, he'll jump to conclusions and make things awkward." I nodded in agreement and then headed back of to my room.

I sat in my room for a while before i finally decided to get up and take a bath. I could still feel Finns arms around me and it was messing with my head, i admit i like him but i also know it would be very bad if i told him.

I still felt dirty, every time i looked in the mirror all i saw was blood and dirt embedded into my skin. however much i scrubbed myself, i just never felt clean. While i was in the bath, i heard a door slam and a minute later voices. I guessed that meant Nick was back from work  and had gone to check on Finn, i was glad Finn had someone looking out for him.

I stayed in the bath for longer than i shoved have, i washed my hair and as i rubbed the shampoo in, i could smell a hint of mint to it. I realized that it reminded me of Finn, maybe he stayed here a lot, i hadn't actually asked him if he had his own place. I was knocked out of my thoughts by a knock at the door and then suddenly it opened.

"Sky, you in here?" I heard Nick say as he walked into my room.

"I'm in the bathroom, what do you want?" I asked not meaning to sound so rude.

"I was just making sure you were alright. Did something happen, you sound worked up?" He said opening the bathroom door.

"NICK," I shouted as he walked in. "GET THE HELL OUT" I threw the bottle of shampoo at him and he quickly ran out.

"Sorry, i didn't think." He said through the door. "Finn said you had a bad night."

"I'm fine. I was just worried about going to sleep," I said trying to sound a bit more positive than i felt, "Now, can you leave so i can come out." I said as i got out the bath and rapped a towel around me.

"Sure, i'm making breakfast so come in the kitchen when your done. I've laid some clothes out for you, they should fit." I heard him walk out the room and shut the door behind him, i waited a few minutes before i headed back into the bedroom. There was a pile of clothes on the bed, they looked feminine but i wasn't sure where he had gotten them from. A black leather jacket sat there with a pair of jeans and another one of Nicks shirts, everything fit perfectly apart from the shirt.

I walked into the kitchen and took a seat on the sofa opposite Finn. I could hear Nick cooking in the kitchen and decided to go help him. By the look of the mess, he was making pancakes.

"Want some help?" I said as i came up behind him.

He turned and smiled at me, "Sure, can you grab the bag of chocolate chips, there on a shelf above the oven." I grabbed the bag and pasted it to him, it had been awhile since i'd helped someone in the kitchen other than my mum and it was nice to spend time with other people.

"I'm sorry i snapped at you earlier, i was just tired."

"It's fine, it was my fault. I should have knocked first." I smiled at him and we carried on cooking. I helped lay the table and we all sat down to eat. As we sat there i suddenly felt out of place, it had been such a long time since i had sat down and eaten with anyone. It felt weird, it reminded me of when my father had been alive but i quickly pushed that thought to the back of my head, before i started crying.
