The blood secret

Chapter 6

I woke up early this morning, after having about three hours of sleep. All night, the conversation i had with Finn kept running through my head, i was still so confused. None of what he said made any sense but all i could do was be patient and wait for him to explain it properly. "Whatever it was, i'm sure he has a good reason for not telling me" I thought aloud, trying to make myself feel better. Since it's our last day together and Finn said he didn't know how long it would be till he would be able to come back, we promised to sit together on the bus.

Apart from, i had one problem to deal with first and his name was Blake. Since he also takes astronomy, hes going on the trip and if he sees me with Finn, well i don't want to think about what he might do. I hoped after what happened in the arcade, he would stay away and i prayed i was right about that.

I know Finn said he must leave but i wasn't sure what he meant by that, was he just leaving school or was he leaving town altogether.

"I'm heading out." I yelled to Sue. I was still avoiding her and i think she was also giving me some space, which i was thankful for.

"Wait, can we talk?" I breathed in and out, trying to stay calm as Blake approached me. Wishing my wish for him to stay away would come true right at this moment. 

"About what?" I already knew what he wanted to talk about and i didn't want to listen to his excuses anymore.

"About everything that's happened since i got back." I said taking a step closer to me. 

"I don't want to talk about it." I grabbed my bag and headed out the door, "Now if you'll excuse me, i have to go." 

My plan to get to school early backfired, when i ran into the morning traffic down on water cross road. Someone had crashed into a lamp post in the middle of the night and they were still cleaning up all the mess from it. I sat there with my window down and my music blaring, waiting for the traffic to move but it was more like sitting behind a load of snails.

After what felt like a life time, the traffic finally started moving and by the time i was nearing school, it was already eight thirty, which meant i would have to hurry if i wanted a seat next to Finn.

When i arrived at school, i parked the car in the last available spot which luckily was my usual one. I jumped out the car and went to look for Finn, after a minute of scanning the car park, i found him sitting on the front truck wearing a black hoodie and his usual baseball cap. He looked handsome just sat there, some girls that walked past went up to him, trying to act all cute and girly but he just shook them of like they were nothing.

"Hi." That was all i could think of to say. It had been such a strange night last night and it was still playing on my mind in a loop. I mean one minute Finn is saving me from this group of guys and the next hes telling me that something big is happening and hes leaving. i mean, that's a lot to process  in one night.

"Hey, sleep well?" He jumped of his car and walked up to me but kept some space between us. That smalls distance between us, suddenly felt bigger.

"Not really, you?"

"No." He said as he ran his fingers through his messy hair, "Shall we go get a seat on the bus before they all get filled up?" He pointed to the yellow bus across the park.

I nodded and followed behind him and onto the bus, we managed to get a seat next to each other on one of the back seats, which was far away from Blake and his friends. Thank the lord. The journey to the planetarium was about an hour from our school so it gave me plenty of time to try and get some more information out of Finn.

"I know what your thinking and the answer is no. I'm not telling you anymore about what's happening." He shoved his cap inside his bag and swiveled in his seat, so we were facing each other.
