The blood secret

Chapter 9

I was ready and waiting for Finn at eight o'clock, i sat out on the porch staring up at the sky and tried to relax. I laid on my back and tried to pick out shapes in the clouds, that was always something i used to do with my father while we waited for mum to come home, after her long weeks away. I don't have meany memories of my father but the ones i do, i cherish with all my heart.

I sat up when i heard a bike flying down the road and was surprised when it pulled into my drive. Finn hopped of it and jogged over to, he was wearing a black shirt and black jeans but it made him look so, good. 

He sat down next to me and just stared, saying nothing. 

"Are you just gonna sit there and stare at me?" I said, starting to feel uncomfortable.

"Sorry, it's just when i saw you, i thought of last night and you in those lacy pajamas." He said with a cute smile.

"Oh yeah, i wondering how i got into those." 

"Don't worry, when i dropped you home Sue let me carry you up stairs and then i left. I'm guessing she must of done it when i left, i came back later through the window to check on you and try to explain some stuff. I thought you would be kinda freaked out, that's why i decided to tell you all of this.  

"Oh, thank god. For a minute i thought you were the one who undressed me," I said, i could feel my face turning red and decided to change the subject. "So, where are we going exactly?"

"Well i thought we could go grab some breakfast. i know a little cafe just out of town. we can talk there."

"OK. Sounds good, as long as your paying?" I said jokingly.

We headed over to his bike, a shiny black Harley sat at the end of my drive. It's the kind of thing your parents would never approve of, especially the boy that comes with it. He passed me a helmet and jumped on, i slowly put my arms around his waist and tried to keep as much distance between us as possible but as he sped of down the road, i ended up sliding right against him.

As we pulled up outside the small cafe, i recognized it from a picture i had seen of my mum and dad when they first met. It was their first date and my father had surprised my mum by bringing her to this little cafe, on the beach front. A small tear escaped from the corner of my eye as i removed the helmet and climbed of the back of the bike.

"Hey. You OK?" Finn said as he turned to look at me. 

I couldn't stop the tears from escaping, however hard i tried. "It's fine, it's just my mum and dad used to come here all the time together." 

"I know, that's why i chose it. Your dad bought me here the first time we met, he said it was his favorite place to come. Honestly back then i didn't see the appeal but it does seem nice." He said as he wiped a tear from my cheek and lead me to the front door.

As we walked in, the smell of freshly baked cakes and coffee hit me and it bought a certain comfort to me, knowing that i was at my fathers favorite place. It was amazing, the walls where painted with red and white strips and the tables matched.

Finn chose a table that sat in the corner by a big glass wall, that over looked the ocean. My father had told me about this place when i was younger but he never got the chance to bring me here, himself.

"I can't believe i'm actually here, my father never got the chance to bring me here. i had actually forgotten all about this place, it's been a while since i last thought about my father, at least until you came along." I said looking at him, a small smile formed on his face but was gone as quickly as it came.
