Chapter 9

Ever since that day, everyone who knew about the upcoming war was preparing. The royal armies that were proven loyal started their secret training. Kise, Momoi, Aya and Akashi decided to make the evacuation place to the island where they were washed away before since they found out that it was still part of Ardelum kingdom. They started building houses, as well as bringing what could be used when the war started.

It's been four weeks since then, and Riko and the others also noticed that Aya was unexpectedly always with them. She hadn't been to the villages, and was busy with something else. Aya hadn't told them about the war since Akashi told her not to make them worry for now. She apologized though, and was doing her best to help out at night.

There were couple of times too when she went and buy loads of foods, left with Akashi, then returned a day later with bunch of new stuffs made from bamboos.

~first week of November~

It was the first week of the month of November. Riko, Hyuga, Kiyoshi, and Izuki were doing the ointments at the extended small hut behind Riko's house. Aya was there as well, but they noticed that for the whole day she was off.

"Is it the time of the year?" Hyuga whispered

"Yeah, she's been like this since yesterday. Tomorrow will be the most dangerous day" Riko responded

"Aya, why don't you go and rest for the night?" Kiyoshi suggested and she flinched first then nodded

"Well then, I'll go ahead" she bowed down and left. "My apologies for leaving early"

"She really is very vulnerable when this time comes. What was her reason again?" Izuki curiously asked

"Death Anniversary of her mom"

Before heading to her room, Aya grabbed the half-full wine on the kitchen. He headed to the 2nd floor balcony, sat down, and just stared at the night sky.

She wasn't drinking much since she know that she has low tolerance for any kind of alcohol. Also, she was still 19 and in the world she came from, she mustn't drink until 20, but in this world they were allowed to drink in the age of 16.

"You are still awake?" Aya flinched when Riko suddenly came in and chuckled "are you drinking all by yourself?"

"Just a bit. Sorry"

"Don't apologize" Riko sat down next to her and got the glass from her, and also took a sip from it "it's been three hours since we told you to rest. I knew that you are still awake"

Aya smiled as she gazed down "I didn't realize the time."

"It's okay. We all understand that it's the time of the year again. Tomorrow, you can rest for the whole day. You are working too much already, so at least during this time, you can meditate, and have a time for yourself"

"Well then, I'll accept that offer" Aya looked up and again watched the sky "did I mention? My mom's name is Seira, and it was written as Starry Sky. She loves night, especially full moon"

"Wow, so your mom's full name means full moon starry sky?"

"Yeah" Aya chuckled "that's why she was very peaceful when she died. It was full moon that time, and the stars were shining so bright at the night sky."

"That's why you love night as well, huh?"

"Well, I am a person of night after all."

"I love how your name and your mom's name are connected, even your last name"

"My mom said that her last name was taken by my father, so I don't know what's his last name, nor his name, nor his whereabouts. Just, my mom said that he chose the name for me, and he loves me so much. So I guessed, before I was born, he already died"
