Alone we can do so little; together, we can do so much- Hellen Keller.

MIA'S POV:

Mrs Patricia opened the door and on seeing me,she wore a huge smile on her face. I can't remember the last time I've seen her, mostly because I never get to visit when she's around.

"Mia!" She exclaimed "Come here, baby girl!" She said as she pulled me into a tight hug,she smelt of expensive cologne almost like roses.

I grinned when she finally released me.

"Been so long!,I'm so glad to see you."

"I'm glad to see you too,Mrs Patricia" I replied, meaning every word.

"I've told you countless times to call me Patricia. You never listen, child." She said, making me laugh shyly,as we walked in together.

" Thanks for coming. I was thinking you could cheer Tracey up. She has been in bed all day, refusing to tell me what has gone wrong and Marie said she has been like this for weeks."

I was about to nod when Mr Eamon came out, looking as handsome as ever.

"Hey Mia"

I smiled.

"How have you been?"

"Fine"

He patted my back and walked out,he was probably going to the pool. Tracey's life was really something that you could wish for,her parents were both digital marketers and they had different agencies all over America and even a few more countries. They both started as bestfriends and partners as they grew up from rich backgrounds. Along the line, working together and being with each other almost all the actual time could have sparked up a little love that they both decided not to ignore, till they eventually got married and brought little Tracey to life. Though they are always busy investing and working, they still try to be the best parents in the world to Tracey.

"I smell Pancakes!" I stated.

"Maybe Tracey can wait for later" Patricia laughed. "Follow me!"

I followed her with the aroma sticking up into my nostrils as she led me into the kitchen. Diane was busy sifting the ingredients in a large bowl and Miss Marie was pouring more oil to the pan. They greeted me as they spotted me in the kitchen.

Patricia served some already made fluffy pancakes into a large china plate and handed it over to me.

"Maybe you'd also be able to talk Tracey into eating some of them with you."

"She can't resist these delicious pancakes" I assured her, drooling over them.

I climbed up the long staircase and finally opened the door to Tracey's room. I dropped the plate on the nearest table and closed the door carefully.

She was sitting on the queen-sized bed with her ear pods on and slowly looked up at me,she groaned.

"I told them not to call you" She rolled her eyes and removed her ear pods. "Jesus"

"You need to get over it,Tracey. At a point in High School, everyone gets embarrassed about something. But that's that,It all fades at the end of the day."

" It's not. I can't believe Norman could do that to me" She face palmed her face.

I got up and opened her velvet draped windows,I left the inner lace curtains drawn allowing daylight to spring in. The view from this beautiful high arched windows rendered an heart-stopping view. I sighed being satisfied by the scenery and walked up to the table where I left the pancakes.

"Want some?" I asked,taking a bite.

"You aren't even listening to me!"

"No one believed that Norman could do that to you,Tracey. But that is all in the past now,no one really remembers it anymore. Why are you getting yourself worked up over things that don't matter anymore?"

" I was hurt." She took one of the pancakes half-mindedly. "I still am. And I'm very mad at him and at everyone. I wish there was a way I could divert their attention to another juicy news."

" But their attention has been diverted already,Tracey. No one laughs at you anymore."

" They still do,Mia. I receive so many disgusting messages from the cheerleaders who resend me the screenshots everyday to remind me of my misery."

"It can't be that bad" I muffled with a lot of food in my mouth since I was seriously doubting myself.

"You know it is" She said, staring at me and chewing slowly.

"They say Pancakes solves all problems though" I grinned and shrugged.

"No one says that,Mia" She stated and we laughed.

A stoney silence ensued and only our mouths were literally moving.

"I still have a crush on Norman"

I almost choked at the sound of this,I couldn't believe my ears. How exactly stupid can your bestfriend be? I pushed my glasses up my nose and glared at her.

"Are you insane?" I blurted.

"I can't control my emotions, okay?" She raised her voice,as she stepped out of bed and went closer to the windows, folding up her arms.

"And I'm still going to find a way to make him mine."

"Now you just sound like an obsessed psycho." I rose up as well and rolled my eyes.

"I will,Mia. Just watch."

"I'm not going to be watching anything. I'm not going to watch my bestfriend be some kinda Harley Quinn who can't get enough of the Joker"

" What do you mean?",She turned around and faced me.

" Norman is never going to love you,Tracey. Anyone can see that! Get back to your fucking senses. There are other guys out there and I'm sure Kyle would still want to have you back if you let him."

"Pffft!" She dragged. "Kyle is a doll. I can easily play with him and throw him around. Norman is the real deal."

"I'm not supporting you at all on anything you are planning to do."

Our phones both buzzed unexpectedly and we saw a message from Alyssa.

*I have something to tell you. Please come over. I need your help.*

Tracey and I looked at each other at the same time.

"I'll grab my keys!" Tracey said and hurriedly rushed to dress up.

I read the message again, I knew Alyssa was going to tell you us the main reason why she hasn't been in school.

Something had definitely gone wrong.
