CHAPTER 10: You are safe and secure because you are with me

GUILA's POV

This is fool! I haven't been feeling awkward in my work but this time I am. I know I need not to be but I can't control it especially now that I will be travelling with him, the inventor. Chairman Chui assigned me to accompany him instead of Charlene to his mobile launching for two weeks in Europe and Asia. Just f*ck! What's wrong with these people around me?

"Ms. Loveland, Guila..." a voice of a man was calling my name but I am still staring on the wall thinking of reasons to get rid of this task. Then Charlene, who was beside me, snapped her fingers and say, "Guila. Wake up, yooo hooo we are having a meeting here."

"Oh I am sorry. I was just thinking, Chairman. I will be having meet-ups with important investors and I have to attend..."

"You don't have to. I will be attending to them."

"But..."

"Why Guila? Are you feeling awkward with our inventor? Do you like him or have any special feelings towards him?" Charlene was trying to challenge me again by teasing me with the inventor. It annoyed so I blurted out, "You're making an issue again huh."

I then got my pen and stuck it to her neck.

Yeah, blood splashing until she cannot breathe and die.  

That would be nice but no, I am exaggerating. I just got my pen and finally decide to accompany him but not because I was challenged by Charlene's tease but because I have no choice. That is the Chairman's order and I have to obey him. No matter what, he's my boss.

"Actually Ms. Loveland, when you texted me that you were in the hospital this morning, I was about to give the assignment to Charlene but then you said you were fine when I saw you coming and said that you'll definitely be ok if I'll give you an order so I changed my mind and decided to count on you again."

I was surprised to know that. Now I am regretting, I should have lied more and just stayed home this afternoon.  

"How about you Mr. Winds, are you fine with it?" Chairman Chui asked Mark who was sitting in front of me.

"I'm okay with it," Mark not hesitantly answered because like mine, he has no choice.

I rolled my eyes and sighed. Now I can't escape this fate of travelling with him. This will be weeks of awkwardness and aggravation.

MARK's POV

I know it is awkward to travel with her but I was just thinking of launching my product, my phone so I have nothing to do but just be professional. Anyway, when I got home, my blood pressure just rose up upon seeing Cassie on television with Dave Timber, her co-star. They were holding each others' hands. Looking at each others' faces for long like they want to kiss, it hurts me. It breaks my heart. Then they flashed the trailer, OH MEN HERE COMES AGAIN THE SCENE, OH I WANT TO PUNCH THE TV but TV is expensive so I just turned it off. I went to my room and sit on the chair but I seated on something hard. I checked and found Guila's phone. Wait, I also have her wallet, where did I put that? Beat. Where's my f*cking phone? I flash backed. The company called me on the telephone not in my phone. Men, where's it?

Beat. Oh right, I threw it into the fire last night. Men! Sh*t! How can I contact Cassie? And how can she contact me if ever she change her mind and say sorry to me?

Beat. Oh ok, I still have her phone, I'll use it anyway. I was about to create new message but got intrigued with a bunch of texts and e-mail notifications so I checked it. I know, it's bad, but anyway, I'll read the text messages.
