All of the nightmares are nice- well now they are. After awhile CC befriended them. Except for Nightmarionne. He doesn't see the point in being friends with the one who they're supposed to scare. How this happened? You may be asking. CC eventually stayed away from them long enough (he runs away from home at night whenever Elizabeth and Mrs. Afton isn't there because he found out what William's done. This headcanon isn't my original idea.) And the Nightmare's slowly grew weaker due to the fact that they haven't fed on fear in awhile, making them nicer.
That was my old AU, here's my new AU:
CC was terrified of the nightmares, but eventually stopped being scared of them due to him being around animatronics so often. Seeing as they're literal nightmares-who-because-of-logic-came-to-life depending on how afraid CC is of them, depends on how mean they act. They all eventually stopped being so ruthless and scary personality wise, aside from a few occasions.
