Excitement lingers in the air,
Coating my lungs and choking
As people filter past in their joy,
My lungs squeeze in my chest
As brief touches linger on bruised skin.

Please, I just want to be left alone,
No one can hear the plea, too lost
In their own thoughts and feelings
To pay any mind to the lonely,
For they are only aware of their own loneliness.
