One young girl
with eyes of innocence
All her dreams laid bare
in the form of teddy bears
Smiles of delight
as she falls into a pile
Happy laugher fills the space
but it's the silence after that truly screams
And the mirage
fades away

Man with grey in his hair
holding the keys
To his midlife crisis
only this time, it's affordable
Speeds of an unbelievable proportion
unable to keep the joy contained
But its the moment his eyes
truly open to reality
And the mirage
fades away

College graduate
fresh from the ranks
Already a job lined up
that feeds pride instead of sorrow
Free of debt
living life without stress
However
life is never that kind
And the mirage
fades away
