"When did that happen?" Luther asked, referring to the night I cheated on him and I stared far at the horizon to search for courage to answer him and to face the reality once and for all.

We have decided to let our emotions subside for a few days before we resumed our conversation. We composed ourselves, prepared ourselves to explain our sides and to listen.

But I knew wherever this conversation goes, our relationship is bound to end after. We have to go separate ways. We met unexpectedly, we'll part ways in the most unexpected reason.

I sighed.

"It was during Mavi's birthday, when we had an overnight party." I answered.

A long pause of silence enveloped his rooftop where we have decided to talk. We were seated next to each other on a wooden bench. The hot wind blew and the trees outside swayed aimlessly. The two in the afternoon heat of the sun was making me uncomfortable. Or was it really the silence?

"You shouldn't have come in the first place." He commented after and I nodded my head in agreement. I shouldn't really have come.

"I was promised that Wesley's not invited... But he came." I smiled sadly remembering I wasn't even disappointed at anyone in the group when I saw Wesley that night.

Luther chuckled softly and I focused my eyes on him. There were obvious dark circles under his eyes and short stubbles started growing his chin.

"I honestly believed your past led me to you. Little did I know I was the one who led him back to you." A tear escaped his eye. He averted his gaze. "Ako pala ang magbabalik sayo sa kanya."

"I'm sorry, Luther."

"Did you even love me, Alison?" He asked and I nodded right away. Because it's the truth.

"Believe me or not, yes I loved you."

"But not enough for you to completely forget your past." He said, more like stating a fact.

I looked down. Maybe, he's right? I haven't completely deleted Wesley in my system. I haven't completely forgotten him. Maybe not when he had left me someone to remember him by--Dale.

I stopped thinking of him but there were nights his face was crossing my mind when I was putting my son to sleep. There were times my heart skipped a beat when my son smiles because it reminded me so much of him. They were so the same in almost all aspects.

"Are you coming back to him?" Luther asked after a minute.

I stared at him intently before I shook my head. "I don't know."

The news about my infidelity broke quickly like a forest fire. I wasn't actually surprised when I've learned Danaya was the culprit. I have received hate messages, some called me assumera for wanting a tycoon. I guess I deserved all that.

Mom and Dad called me and they were seething with anger in what I did. I cried the whole duration of the call and I didn't defend myself. The first time I got pregnant with Wesley's child was considered a beautiful mistake. The second time is a product of stupidity and wrong timing.

Luther held both my hands and I was pulled from my musings. His eyes were pleading. My forehead creased.

"If you're not sure of him, come with me Alison. I'm willing to forgive and forget. We'll start anew." He said with a hopeful but sad smile. "Lalayo tayo sa lahat."
