As me and Laurence walked through the woods, reflecting on simpler times. Er, well, as simple as our lives could get. He told me about all the times he had flirted with Aphmau and how even though he wanted her, he stepped aside for Garroth since he knew her longer. I told him about how I was raised, how Zane took me in and hid me from my brothers. How my mom was able to keep her pregnancy concealed from the the world, then how she sent me to the Nether to find Vylad.
He told me that he never really knew his parents and that he joked and flirted to hide all that pain. "But yeah, now that I've disconnected from the people who never me before, I feel..."
"free." I finished for him.
He smiled sadly, "Yeah, I still miss them but now I have a purpose that isn't to be shoved to the side." He snuck a glace in my direction, which I totally caught. "And, I have someone who understands what it's like. Plus she's really hot."
I laughed at that. "Oh Irene! No wonder why Aphmau didn't want to date you!"
He chuckled, "Oh, come on! I'm not that bad."
I continued giggling, "'Not bad'? You have no tact what-so-ever!"
He glared, "Luna!"
I calmed down, "What Laurence? It's true! You've improved since then, if that helps."
He still glared, "I wasn't that ba-"
He was interrupted by a female voice. "Laurence?"
We both Whipped around to the source of the voice. The were two women, one I recognized as Aphmau but the other looked like a witch with orange-red hair.
Laurence shot me a look of panic before responding, "Hey Aphmau."
The witch took a step forward, "Laurence. Where are Michi and Sasha?" She spoke calm and collected.
I couldn't hide the look of confusion on my face, "The generals in the rebellion? What do they have to do with anything here?"
Laurence sighed beside me but it was Aphmau who spoke up next, "Wait. Rebellion? What rebellion?"
Laurence looked extremely frustrated and spoke through his teeth, "When I left I took Sasha and Michi with me to the Nether. There we met up with Zenix and started the Rebellion against Shad."
Aphmau looked more shocked, "How did you manage to get two HIGHLY guarded prisoners off the Pheonix Alliance island and to the Nether portal without anyone noticing?!"
I chuckled a bit in surprise, "I take back what I said earlier Laurence, you had some tact. Just not with women."
That got a laugh from Aphmau but Laurence just groaned, "I'm not going to live that down, am I?"
I smirked at him, "Ha, nope. Anyway, is Garroth with you Aphmau?"
Aphmau shook her head, "No but we were just going to see him. He's with Hyria."
I nodded, "Okay, well, first off, you're going the wrong way. Second, go before us and tell Hyria that I'm on the way."
Lucinda, I think her name was, looked confused, "She should already know that you're in here."
I smiled, "Yeah, but normally I just use the forest as a shortcut. It's rare that I visit Hyria here." 'Plus then she knows to hide anything she doesn't want Shad to see.' I thought to myself.
Aphmau nodded and a fairy appeared behind her, presumably to lead her to Hyria."What's your name?"
I smiled, "Luna."
Me and Laurence waited until they were out of sight to follow them.
We sat in an uncomfortable silence until Laurence spoke up, "What's going through your mind right now?"
I smiled, he knew me so well. "Well, I'm nervous. We don't know what will happen when I break the contract. And what if Shad is able to control me again?" I stopped momentarily to regain control of my thoughts. "But I also feel excited. This is my chance at freedom as well as the chance to learn more about soul contracts."
'Adorable.'
I don't think he meant to mindlink me so I ignored it although I could feel myself blush. I guess he didn't realize because we fell into a comfortable silence. It wasn't long before we reached Hyria's home. I smiled fondly and went to knock on the door but before I could Hyria bounded out and hugged me.
I chuckled slightly and hugged her back, "How've you been Hyria?"
She chuckled slightly as well, "Good, but I heard from a little wyvern that you're here for a special someone."
We pulled away, still smiling, "Yeah. Is he here?"
As I spoke I noticed a figure moving in the house but didn't know who it was until he was standing at the door staring wide-eyed at Laurence. "Laurence?"
Laurence, who was standing somewhat behind me, started towards the door. "Hey Garroth." I watched as Garroth stared in disbelief. I expected Laurence to hug him or do some sort of bro gesture, but he stopped midway between me and Garroth. "There's someone I think you should meet."
He looked back to me and I realized what he was about to do, "Laurence don't-"
He cut me off, "She's pretty Lune."
I groaned, "You. Are. The. Worst."
He laughed, "What was worse, earlier or this?"
I walked over and punched his shoulder, "Definitely this one. 'Lune'? Really?"
Garroth stared on in confusion, "Is your name Lune, or something?"
I groaned again, "Or something. Lune is a codename. My real name is Luna, Luna Ro'meave."
Some of the confusion on his face cleared and he asked, "So are you a distant cousin or something?"
I laughed and turned toward Laurence, "That's ten diamonds for Luna!" He groaned and I turned back to Garroth."No, I'm your sister."
He looked as if he were about to speak but as soon as the words escaped my mouth a splitting pain cut through my skull. I gripped my head and felt a hand on my shoulder. I couldn't hear anything other than the ringing in my ears. Then everything cleared.

I'd like to explain the Lune joke. It doesn't make much sense even to me so here is my best guess. I think I originally wrote it to be a play off on cool but reread it, it doesn't make sense at all so here's why I kept it in. The definition of Lune (and you can look this up) is "a crescent-shaped figure formed on a sphere or plane by two arcs intersecting at two points". What does this mean in Luna's case? Well, Luna does mean moon in Spanish (and no I didn't have to look that one up) and she it at the crossroads of her life when the joke is made. Plus it's her code name when working with the rebellion.
