Just focus on the task at hand. Right. Easier said than done. Zak had come down to the main area and was helping Aphmau and Aaron get to the roof. Laurence was standing next to me, an arm around me and his eyes glued to Katelyn and Michael in front of us. Resisting the urge to just cuddle into him I focus on other ways to snap Travis out. Violet and Jak are coming but there's no guarantee that'll work.
Then it hit me.
Normalcy. Travis needs a sense of normalcy to break out of Michael's grip. I jumped out of Laurence's semi-embrace and froze time for everyone but Laurence, Katelyn, and I.
"Luna, wh-" He must have realized I froze time because Laurence cut himself off.
I smiled at him and ran over to Katelyn, beckoning him to join. "I've got a solution!"
Katelyn sighed, "At this point anything you suggest will be better than anything I can do."
I bounced a bit, "Okay, so I figured that since most of his magic is offset by love in any sense, i.e. platonic, romantic, etc. If you introduce a sense of normalcy that he would associate with that love it could loosen Michael's grip on Travis!" I realized how excited I was and calmed down myself a bit. "Um. Sorry, I got excited."
Katelyn looked at me weird, "You have nothing to apologize for, the idea is brilliant." She looked back to Michael. "So I just treat him like I used to?"
I nodded a bit, "Yeah, whatever your interactions were like, try to bring it back. Maybe even start quoting an old conversation you had with him."
She nodded, "Um. Can you guys not listen in? I don't really want others hearing this."
Laurence looked at her with understand in his eyes. "Of course, we'll be right over there."
We went back to the way we were before and I unfroze time. This wasn't going to be easy. I didn't even really know if it would work.
"So are gonna just keep freezing time everytime something doesn't work? The celestial cannon won't last that long." Michael said with a bite to his words.
I tuned him out and focused me attention on what to do next. At this point I was exhausted. I used up a lot of magic in the past few hours and there were still protections on the mainland to prevent spread of information about the Ultima. I still needed to clear the minds of everyone hear but I could barely keep my eyes open as Laurence wrapped his arms around me. I smiled. He was warm compared to my normally cold body. He hugged me tight and I could feel myself drift into a peaceful slumber.A bit on the shorter side. Also, If you guys see updates on random chapters that's just me going back and editing them. No big changes, just typos and such.
