Jesse, Garrett, and Ava sit around the bed. The two sisters are on either side of it still eyeballing one another. Garrett rests on a stool at the end, watching them. The only sounds in the room are breathing, the hum of the ship's engines and the heart monitoring machine hooked up to Paige.
Paige is still out cold, but all vitals are normal.
There is a knock at the door, which breaks the awkward silence between them.
Kennedy and Dallas enter with a tray each of food and hot beverages.
"Thought ya all could do with some food and coffee," Kennedy says as they put the contents on the table next to the bed.
Jesse turns to them, "thanks."
"Yeah thanks," Ava says without moving.
Garrett nods, and says, "is this Maddy's famous steak and cheese sandwich I smell?" he smiles.
Kennedy nods, "if you want it to be, I guess it is," she looks at Dallas, then turns and walks back out.
"We'll leave you to it."
No one says anything as she walks out.
Garrett picks up a sandwich and starts to eat. Jesse and Ava continue to glare at one another.
Kennedy and Dallas walk down the corridor. The cold walls of the ship seem to hum to them as they go. Kennedy stares at them as she walks.
"You okay, sis?"
"You feel it too, don't you?"
"I sure do. Them two are gonna scratch each other's eyes out over that man."
"I'm not talking about them."
"Yeah I know. You mean the other thing."
"It's more than a thing!" she stops.
Dallas stops just a head of her and turns to her, "we're on course to find her ship... the cap will-
"What, sis? She'll what?"
"I don't know."
"Yeah. None of us knows, and that's the problem. She always tells us what she has planned."
"Which means it can't be anything good."
"I'd say worse than bad."
"Yeah. That messed up kinda bad."
"What are you ladies talking about?" George asks as he walks towards them.
"Nothin important."
George huffs, "okay, if ya don't want to tell me. That's fine."
Dallas turns to face him, "Nothin to tell."
"Okay. Well, I've something to tell you."
"Really?" Kennedy asks.
"Yeah," he looks beyond them, "not here though. Let's go somewhere more private."
"In your dreams George, we've said no once already. Nothing has changed since then."
"Everyone's overly cliché around here lately. Besides, you two are too much hard work."
Dallas puts her hands on her hips, "oh, really?"
"Do you want to know what the cap talked about with the powers that be or not?"
The twins look at one another, then they turn to George, "what if we get caught?" Kennedy asks.
"We won't."
"But-
"Look, we won't. I have a recording and it's untraceable. Plus, it's an old transmission now, so no one will be monitoring it."
"I say we find out what is happening." Dallas says.
Kennedy watches his eyes as he talks.
"I can assure you that its safe."
She looks at Dallas, "what'da ya think sis?"
"You know what I think."
George smiles, then extends his arm as he says, "Follow me and you shall have the truth."
