One Miraculous Circus

Chapter 12

Adrien was on his way to school constantly thinking of the beautiful, raven-haired acrobatic that the world now thought he was dating. He couldn't wait to see her after school that day and he even had the plans for his new club to show her and all the circus people. He had an extra flier in his bag to show people at school, he would say he just heard of it instead of telling people he made it through, he couldn't risk people figuring out his identity when he goes in disguise. His car pulled to a stop and he grabbed his bag and ran in. 

Alya and Marinette were stood by the stairs with Nino so he pulled the flier out of his bag and joined them, "Hey guys, look what I found, we should all go one day." 

He passed Marinette the poster and she had a look at it, "Yeah this is really cool and the times mean I can go after work at the café." She lied about the café but the timing did work so she could go after the circus, "If you went Alya I'm sure you might run into Ladybug, you should invite her Adrien." 

Alya jumped up and down in excitement, "Nino, you are coming to my house tonight and we are making you a costume." Alya grabbed onto Nino's arm and put her head on his shoulder, "Are you coming too, Mari?" 

"I don't think I'll be going, my aunt is quite strict," Marinette said, fake smiling. 

She hated lying to her friends about living alone and about Ladybug but she had to. She didn't want them to pity her and the circus said she couldn't tell anyone about Ladybug. The bell rang through the school halls, interrupting them and they all went to their first lessons.

Kagami was sat in the same seat as always and Adrien was visibly uncomfortable when he had to go sit next to her. Marinette noticed and asked Sabrina to switch places with him, she wouldn't have to sit next to Sabrina and he didn't have to sit next to Kagami anymore. 

"Hey, so, are you going to that club thing tonight?" Mari asked Adrien when he sat down next to her. 

"I'm not sure, I might do. Work has got me a bit busy as I have to put away Ladybugs equipment tonight," he responded, smiling slightly. 

"So, you like Ladybug huh?" Marinette teased, "I've seen the Ladyblog." Adrien went rosy.

"That's the first time someone has mentioned the Ladyblog today, the first time of many I'm guessing. I mean she's really cool but we aren't actually dating," Adrien said before turning to face the wall, "Sadly." 

Marinette and Adrien continued to talk before Madame Bustier interrupted them, "Okay class, listen up!"

School passed by extremely slow but it was bearable as they all had the same thing to look forward to, the club miraculous. Alya had asked Marinette to design her and Nino's costume so she was spending her last lesson with her face glued to her sketchbook. After school, instead of spending her time before work at the park with her friends, she went home and she made the costumes. After a while, she made the outfits for the alter ego's she called Rena Rouge and Carapace. 

She ran down to the park just in time to catch them before they left, "Hey! Alya! Here's your costume as well as Nino's." 

"Ahh! Thank you, girl! I hope I see you there but I've got homework to do and Nino is coming back to mine. I'll send you a photo of our costumes when we put them on. Hopefully, I'll see you later," Alya shouted back at her while she started to run home, dragging Nino along behind her.

Marinette went home to pack a bag of extra clothes and she then put on her Ladybug outfit. She wrapped up in her black jumper again and pulled her hood down over her face and ran to the circus. 

She ran around a corner but while checking behind her when she ran into Adrien, causing them both to stumble backwards, "Oh, hey Adrien, I'm sorry about that." 

"Hey Ladybug, I'm guessing you're heading to the circus as well." 

"Yeah but it takes ages to get there from where I live which means I freeze to death every time I walk there," Ladybug responded, shivering under the hoodie. 

"I know a short cut, come with me," Adrien said while grabbing Ladybug's hand and turning off down an alleyway.

A few minutes later they were at the back entrance of the circus building. "Thank you for the short cut, I will probably start taking it more often," Ladybug said while they walked inside. 

She looked down and saw her and Adrien were still holding hands, "So, what's happening with the Q&A tonight?" 

Adrien brought out the plans from his bag, "You'll be doing your performance and straight after the silks you'll lower yourself to the ground and begin the Q&A, after that is when the ending will be so stay in the ring. Basically, you'll be in the ring pretty much the whole last half of the show." 

Ladybug nodded and pushed through the back door and straight into the busy atmosphere of the backstage area. 

From beside her, Adrien shouted, "Show starting in 5 minutes!" after checking his watch. 

Adrien let go of Ladybug's hand, "I'll see you on stage later, Ladybug."
