One Miraculous Circus

Chapter 15

Time at the apartment sped by and soon Marinette was changing into her Ladybug costume. She decided to wear her hair in braids instead of a bun for the performance that day as she knew the new choreography they had made involved a lot of flips. She packed a bag like she did every night and made sure she had her new soft, black ballet slippers which she performed in, she used to perform barefoot so this was a new improvement to her outfit. She wrapped herself in a hoodie like normal and jogged to work, she arrived early which was unusual, she was normally late. She took the short cut Adrien had taught her and soon she was in her dressing room scrolling on her phone. 

Adrien peeked his head around the door and knocked loudly to grab Ladybug's attention, "Can I come in?" 

"Yeah sure, come on in," Ladybug said while tapping the space next to her. 

"I'm guessing you've seen the Ladyblog recently?" Adrien asked while sitting down next to her and looking into blue her eyes. 

"No, I haven't checked in a while actually," Ladybug responded, confused as to what he could be referring to. He pulled his phone out of his pocket and started to open something. 

He turned the phone towards Ladybug and it showed a photo of Ladybug crying on stage with her head against Adrien's chest while he hugged her. 

"More dating conspiracies I'm guessing?" Ladybug sighed. 

"Yep but I also wanted to check you were okay with a photo like that being on the internet," Adrien asked sympathetically. 

"Oh it's fine, it adds a bit of background to me, the world can see now that I'm like them and not just a famous acrobat," Ladybug smiled and leant her head on Adrien's shoulder, "I just wish I didn't miss them so much." 

Adrien got the news that he was the new permanent ring leader in place of his dad so he was preparing everyone to get out into the ring as he had for the past few days and like he will for the coming future. Everyone was prepared for the final dance of the night and they quickly jumped into action when the music played. Adrien and Ladybug danced together upfront like every day but this dance had more connection than the past ones. The pounding music seemed to drown out as Adrien stared deeply into Ladybug's bluebell eyes. The music came to a stop and Ladybug and Adrien stopped in their typical ending position but the chemistry in the air was stronger than ever. The crowd began to chant something but the two were so focused on each other the noise drowned out. 

The tension grew stronger and stronger until Adrien broke it. He wrapped one arm around Ladybug's waist and pulled her close, staring deeply into her eyes and never breaking contact. He put the other hand onto her cheek and kissed her passionately in front of everyone around them. She kissed back at first but then put both hands on his chest and pushed him away. 

"I'm sorry Adrien," she muttered before she ran off stage. 

Adrien stood on stage silently after being left in front of everyone. The music quickly tuned back in and his eardrums were attacked with the screaming of the audience. 

He looked around and saw video camera's filming him from every direction. "This will be everywhere by tomorrow morning," he thought while running off stage in the opposite direction that Ladybug did. 

Adrien was obviously both sad and embarrassed as he walked home in the cold air. He knew the club was open that night but wasn't sure if he was up to see Ladybug. He remembered he would be Chat at the club and quickly changed his mind, he would go that night and figure out why she ran off. He knew she felt the connection too, it had been there for a few days but it had never been so strong. 

Chat was stood at the bar after opening the place when Ladybug ran in and dragged him into the back room. 

"What's the rush bugaboo?" Chat questioned even though he already knew the answer. 

"Um, basically, the guy I work with kissed me during the performance today and I kind of freaked out and ran away and I need advice," Ladybug said while panting, she had obviously run to the bar. 

"Well, did you want to kiss him?" Chat asked, wishing upon the stars that she'd say yes. 

Ladybug's cheeks turned visibly red as she thought of Adrien and the kiss. "Yes. I wish I had kissed him back. I guess I just panicked because it's Adrien for fucks sake," Ladybug muttered quickly while pacing back and forth. 

Chat sat on the sofa watching her pace and he couldn't help but smile. He could barely stop himself from just going over and kissing her right then and there but he had to keep his identity a secret so all he did was grin widely at the gorgeous girl in front of him. 

"What are you grinning at Chat?" Ladybug questioned when she noticed the boy dressed in black smiling at her.

 He quickly wiped the smirk off his face and re-positioned himself on the sofa, "Oh don't worry about it, m'lady. What do you mean by you freaked out because it was, Adrien?" 

"It's just, he's basically my boss you know and he's also really really cute and I wish I could just go back and kiss him there and then," Ladybug continued to mutter quietly while Chat continued to smirk at all the things this gorgeous girl was saying about him. 

"Talk to him the next time you see him. Show him how you feel, he obviously shared those feelings," Chat said leaning back on the sofa. 

"You're totally right, thank you so much. Okay, I've got to go but thank you so so much," Ladybug said while hugging him and quickly running home. 

"Goodnight m'lady," he whispered while smiling to himself as he went and joined the other people in the bar.
