Chapter 32

[In Ashley's POV]

I watched Adam and Tommy giggle like two little girls, shoulder to shoulder. They're trying to keep their relationship a secret, but they couldn't be more obvious. Everyone suspects. I just feel so bad for Sauli. He has no idea. He doesn't deserve this.

Usually, I'm a very peaceful person; but something about this whole situation just enrages me. Although Tommy and I broke up two weeks ago, I still care about him. I may not be in love, I just don't want to see him hurt. And if Sauli finds out, Tommy is going to get hurt.

I tried to keep calm by strumming on my bass and humming along. But Adam and Tommy's laughs grew louder. Even Brian ans Isaac looked up. I gritted my teeth together. Why should I care? It's not like I'm gonna get caught in the aftermath of the bombshell.

When I looked up, I saw Adam quickly peck Tommy on his cheek. Tommy looked surprised, then shy, then angry; all within a few seconds. The anger boiled even higher. I watched Adam rest his arm right behind Tommy, basically holding him by his waist. A flash of Sauli being so upset crossed my vision.

I know that I promised to keep this a secret, but my anger overtook me. I slammed my bass down and stormed over to the two 'love-birds'. "Would you mind taking this to a bedroom?" I hissed, making sure to keep my voice quiet. Although everyone was starring, only Tommy and Adam could hear me.

"Whoa, Ashley. Take a deep breathe." Adam half laughed, holding his hands up in defense. He acted almost as if he found this funny.

"Have you thought about how this is gonna be for Sauli! Goddammit Adam, you're cheating on him!" I put my hands in the air. Adam looked at me, noticing my rising voice. "Oh give it up! Everyone knows that you two are a 'thing'." As soon as I said this, I regretted saying it so loud. Now I definitely had everyone's attention. "First of all - " I said, holding a finger up. "How could you start dating someone as soon as you end an engagement. Second - " I put another finger up. "You cheat on your current boyfriend with your ex-fiance. And just to add insult to injury, we all know." I stopped to take a breath. "I pity you Lambert. I don't care if this costs me my job. Then at least I won't have to work with someone who would rather hurt others to just get what he wants." Everyone was shocked; but most of all, Adam. His mouth hung open. I could see the hurt in his eyes. In any other occasion, I'd feel terrible; but this time, I'm happy that I hurt him. Maybe I made him see what he's doing.

He closed his mouth and looked away, nodding. He just nodded his head. I'm not sure why. Then, he turned around and walked away as fast as he could. Tommy shook his head in disbelief and ran after Adam.

"Well, someone finally said it." Brian laughed, and Isaac laughed along. A pain of guilt dug inside of me. But I also felt somewhat proud of myself.
