Chapter 14: Official

The past month was interesting. Bakugo never showed affection outside of the dormitories or in front of people. We've kissed less too since we were together. It was strange how he acted towards me. When I would try to make an effort, he would shut me down. Or he would walk away from me, ever since we were got together, he's been more distant. I didn't what to do to fix that.

"Good morning Ryoko!" Ochaco-chan said as I entered the dining room for breakfast.

"Morning Ochaco." I smile after joining her.

"So, how are you and Bakugo?" She asked.

I shrugged, "I guess you could say we're normal."

"No! Ryoko we need details!" Mina begged.

I sighed, "To be really honest with you, nothing. He hasn't even acknowledged me this past month."

The girls all gave me a saddened look, "Maybe you could talk to him, see what's going on." Yoayorozu helps.

I nod, "I think I will. I mean, tonight is our last night of the provisional license training. Maybe after getting our licenses I'll talk to him."

At our last class on a Friday, it was our last evaluation to get our license. Bakugo didn't even sit beside me on the bus, it's like I never existed.

"For our last evaluation, we will conduct a fighting mission. You will fight against Orca and his minions all by yourself. Good luck." Our professor announced as we were out on the field.

This is ridiculous!

I had a wait a while because of my name, so I was able to observe everyone else go. Bakugo did really well, he was able to take down all his minions and beat Orca, he was the first out of the ten that already went. He was given no doubt his license after that battle.

After a few others, it was finally my turn. I went into the fighting space before a whistle blew. I ran straight for his minions. I extended my wings wide and sliced them with my sharpened spiked armor on my wings. I needed more signature moves, so I had Mei Hatsume make an adjustment to my outfit. I had spikes on parts of my armored wings that protected the bone. I also clawed my way through his minions and made my way to Orca. Then, he used his hyper sonic waves to paralyze me to the ground. My ears were sensitive to the sound and hurt me a lot. I dug a little bit into Verity's strength to fight it off.

"Leave it all to me Ryoko, I will guide you." She whispered to me.

"Fine, just help me." I replied before I felt even stronger.

I used my newfound strength to breath fire straight for him. He stopped his paralyzing waves which gave me enough time to fly over to him as fast as light and deliver a hard blow to the face with my clawed hands.

"Tanaka Ryoko, you passed!" The professor said.

I felt Verity's extra power drift away and all my stamina leave. I felt myself falling, but a pair of arms grabbed me. Except, it wasn't Bakugo who caught me.

It was Yaorashi.

"Thanks for helping me back there." I said as I sat on a bench sipping water.

"No worries, it's the least I could do after everything I've done. Tanaka, I'm sorry for they way I've treated you. Can we still be friend?" He asked looking sad.

"Sure, you know to much to be my enemy." I laughed with him before he went out for his turn.

I looked at my license, my first official step to becoming a pro hero that can save lives. It felt so rewarding. Everyone got their license that day and they were happy. I texted my parents and brother about it. They all congratulated me.

On the bus ride back, I felt Bakugo glaring at me, the first time since we were apparently 'official'. I was supposed to talk to him tonight, maybe I could talk to him before he goes to sleep.

Getting off the bus, I felt a hand grab my wrist and drag me to the side of the building, this felt too familiar.

"Did you forget you were mine?" He growled.

"What are you talking about?" I asked.

"You talked to that baldy. He hurt you and you looked like you had fun with him. You're mine, don't you understand?" He looked like he was about to blow a fuse.

"Bakugo, calm down, we're only friends. He helped me out. Maybe he wouldn't have if you weren't acting so distant." I defend myself.

"Well I'm sorry I don't kiss you much, but that doesn't mean you can go talk to other guys." He said angrily.

"You haven't talked to me since you asked me to be yours. You haven't acknowledged me at all. You don't kiss me, hold me, try to be alone with me. I try to talk to you, but you literally walk away from me. What is going on?" I blurted out all my feelings.

"I don't like how they make such a big deal over it," He sighs, "Those idiots are annoying with their prying questions. The only way they would stop was if I said we're not actually together."

"Seriously? Are you embarrassed by me or something?" I asked, feeling my heart break.

He sighed, "That's not what I'm saying."

"That's what you're implying!" I bursted, trying to hold back my tears.

"Can we keep our relationship a secret? We can still do stuff, I can sneak into your room at night." He sounded like he was annoyed.

"No." I said standing my ground.

"What do you mean no? You're mine." He got even angrier.

"Yes but you're not mine." I say before running back into the dorm.

The girls were smiling with a cake made by Sato to celebrate our license. I walked past them quickly to the elevator before the tears came out themselves.

Once I got to my room, I locked the door behind me and cried. Every time I give this boy my heart, he stomps all over it. Is there something wrong with me?

Then, there was a soft knock on the door, "Hey Ryoko, it's us. We have cake." Ochaco said gently.

I got up from my bed and opened the door. Mina jumped to hug me and we both fell to the ground.

"Men are disgusting pigs." Mina declared.

"You can say that again." I replied and we enjoyed cake altogether.

"We should do something this weekend, we deserve a break from everything that has happened between the League of Villains and school work." Mina suggested.

"Don't forget we need to see if we can get some work studies." Ochaco added.

"What do guys have in mind?" I asked.

"What about an outing outside the school? We can find a secluded area to be." Hagakure suggested.

"I mean, I do have a private beach." Yaoyorozu offered.

"Of course you do." The rest of us said at the same time.

"I can ask for Aizawa for the whole class to go! Because my beach is private and guarded we should be allowed to go." Yaoyorozu added.

"That should work." I commented.

"I'll go ask Aizawa." She said before jogging out of my room.

"Oh, ribbit, I don't have a bathing suit." Tsuyu mentions.

"Don't worry, we can go shopping for one tomorrow. We can go all together." Mina said.

"I know a good place downtown. Don't worry, we'll be safe from villains there. It's the brighter side of downtown," I informed them, "Plus, it's pretty cheap."

"Perfect! We'll go early tomorrow morning." Ochaco added.

A distraction from my heart ache? Count me in.
