Until you see something.
You see a hand.
A hand wanting to help you.
They dive down and save you
You fight and deny them at first
The fears that have kept you under for so long become a reality
The waves fight to keep you down
But slowly more people begin to help
And the more they try, the more you accept their help
And soon you see the light you dreamed of seeing for so long
Pulling you further and further up you finally break surface and breathe
You breathe in the breath of happiness the you wanted to have for so long
And it feels amazing.
More waves may come and try to pull you down again
And sometimes they may succeed
But those people who pulled you back to the surface will pull you back up again
They refuse to let you drown in the darkness again
And while the darkness continues to lurk beneath the surface
Those people will not let it pull you back down
They will always keep you afloat
Slowly you learn how to stay afloat again
It does take time
But slowly the darkness that once surrounded you is a thing of the past
The happiness of the surface envelopes you
Then one day
You see someone else underneath the surface
You see them drowning like you once did
So you reach out your hand to them
