The Small Town (Prolouge)

A small town in France was a place filled with joy. Every morning the young ladies of the town would go out to buy bread and flowers for their homes

"Good morning, (Y/N)!" An old man called out
The girl turned towards the voices owner and smiled when she saw who it was

It was the old baker who took care of her when she was a child
"Hey there, Uncle G!" The girl quickly ran over to him with her basket flailing around making the old man panic a little

"Now now kiddo! You'll drop your stuff if you run like that" The old man laughed

Gen'ichirō is an old man who had taken care of (Y/N) when she was outside. He is like family to her. After her parents' death Gen'ichirō took it upon himself to help (Y/N). Since his name is really long the whole town just calls him Uncle G

"I made some bread this morning. I'm guessing you'd like some?" He asked as
(Y/N) nodded slowly and reached to her purse only to be stopped by Uncle G

"It's on me kid. Think of it as an early birthday gift!" He smiled brightly while handing the girl a baguette bag

(Y/N) shook her head "Uncle G... My birthday is in 6 months... But thank you anyway! I'll repay you by helping out in the shop sometime!" She took the bread and held it in her arms

Uncle G laughed and then patted the young girls' head
"You don't need to repay me kid. Just seeing you happy is worth it!"

(Y/N) gently pushed off his hand from her head and then pouted
"I'm not a kid you know... I'm 20!"
"In 6 months."
"In 6 months..."

A small crowd started to appear in the marketplace and chattering could be heard from inside the shop

The girl sighed but then looked outside
"I should really get going or the veggies are gonna get sold out! Old ladies are ruthless there..." (Y/N) looked at the marketplace with horrified eyes

Uncle G laughed again
"Well what are you waiting for? Go get your stuff before it becomes a turf war in there!"

(Y/N) nodded her head and waved him goodbye as she ran out to the marketplace

While running she came across with her friends
"Rin! Miku!" She yelled at the two making them look back
Miku chuckled at her friends dishelved hair

"I'm guessing you're late too?" She asked trying to stifle a laugh

"Too?" The (h/c) hair coloured girl asked catching her breath
She then noticed how Rin was barely awake and had some trouble keeping her eyes open

"Apparently Rin here stood up all night studying about stories~" Miku said patting the blondies head

The blondie quickly snapped awake and pushed the pigtailed girls hands off her head
"First! They're not stories, rather mythology! Second! I did not stay up all night! That's such an unladylike behaviour!" Rin cried "If I have bags under my eyes I'll never find a good husband!"

(Y/N) sweatdropped at the girl

"Oh! Speaking of husbands. I just got a letter about it. Some guy wants me to be his wife... And I really hope my father says no! I don't want to be with a guy I never met..." Miku shed a fake tear
