Reid and Rossi sat silently in the car, neither made any attempt to say a word as the car stayed parked In the parking garage to the mental hospital. They had a box of some of Keni's stuff from her room that gave them some idea of who she was.
They had collected a diary from before Keni was admitted to Madison and a separate one from once she got sent there. Spencer knew he would be the one to have to read through both journals but for the first time since he started working with the FBI he felt guilty for invading someone's personal things.
Maybe it was because she was pretty and somewhat his age. Maybe it was because he knew that she struggled with serious mental issues and he'd have to read about all her inner thoughts. Nonetheless he was gonna read it regardless of whether he wanted to or not so better to just suck it up.
Finally Hotch started the car and broke the thick silence. "You ok Reid?" Spencer looked over at Hotch and nodded "ya I think I am. Cases like this are just harder than the others." Hotch drove out of the parking garage and started heading back to the police station. "Ya, I mean the poor girl already is dealing with God knows how much, being kidnapped probably won't help much."
Neither man made an effort to speak after the short conversation. They sat in silence as they made their way back to the station.

The men entered the private room and set the box of Keni's stuff on the table. "Mari, Keni's sister is being interviewed right now." Emily said from her seat next to the coffee nook.
Hotch nodded and started digging through the box of stuff. He handed Spencer the two journals "go ahead and read these now. We need to hurry up and get some more information. We've got close to nothing right now." Reluctantly Spencer sat down and begin to read the first journal.
