She stood at the small mirror placed on her wall in her room at Madison Mental Ward in Florida. She brushed her fingers through her matted long caramel hair. She wasn't allowed to have a brush due to her trying to hurt herself with it once before.
She stared at her peachy pale skin and trailed her dull green eyes down to her wrist where she had bandages covering previous scars and failed suicide attempts.
Her older sister Mari had admitted her in here a little over 2 months ago and she hated it. All the doctors poking and pinching everywhere and testing different medications and therapy methods on her. Nurses pretending to give a shit about your well being, shitty hospital food, those actual crazy people that try and kill you with a cheese slice, or try and swallow the remote batteries and get TV rights removed for everyone. Yeah, this place sucked in Keni's opinion, but no one seemed to care about keni's opinion anymore.
While settling down for the night a little past 9pm with a novel in her small uncozy bed an alarm started blaring and her cell door flew open with nurses yelling to calmly walk down the steps and outside where they'll get further instructions from the police officers. Keni did as she said leaving her book behind wondering what could possibly be happening, the only alarms she thought they had were the fire alarm and the lockdown alarm, which neither where on at the moment.
She stood outside next to some other mental creeps from her floor. Everyone in their night clothes which mostly consisted of leggings or sweatpants and T-shirts. They didn't have a set 'uniform' at the hospital, you could wear whatever you brought from home when you checked in. Keni silently praised herself for being in white bed shorts and a pale pink loose shirt. The Florida humidity was not kind on this steamy May night.
She hissed in pain and grabbed her arm where she had just felt the small stinging pain. Assuming it was a bee she rubbed the spot gently mentally reminding herself to tell her nurse of the bee sting once everyone was back and settled in their room.
But just as quick as the pain had gone away she fell into the arms of a psychopath completely unconscious and unaware of the horrors that awaited her.
