Keni was asleep, Spencer was still sitting in her room thinking over the case and watching her sleep. He's gotten attached and he knows it, he also knows hell have to go back home once the case is solved and leave Keni for good.
He sighed, he didn't wanna leave her and they weren't any closer to solving the case then they were when they first started.
He got up and walked into the room where his team was set up. They decided to officially set up in a private room in the hospital just so they could keep an eye on Keni, considering they have no idea who this guy is or where he is. He could still be looking for Keni so they needed to know she was safe.
"-i mean I can't believe no one knows his name! He's practically everyone!" Garcia yelled over speaker phone to Morgan. "slow down babygirl.. Reid just walked in, fill him in."
"Right. So, Adam Hyland, 45. That's our guy, unfortunately he had about 27 other identities. And im still working on narrowing down on which one is really him." Spencer frowned "it shouldn't be that hard to figure that out." He said to the phone to which he got a scuff. "Typically no. But he's been at this for years, he's built up complete identities for each name....it's crazy...I'll hit y'all up when I find something." The call ended with a beep and Morgan pushed his phone into his pocket.
Spencer went to the coffee table and made himself coffee "why would someone need so many different aliases.." "well he's doing illegal stuff so I'm sure he'd want as many different names as possible..." Emily spoke up. "yes but he would still look exactly the same, so the names wouldn't matter." The room fell silent, everyone pondered over what Spencer had said before he left again to go to Keni.
He walked in and saw her awake and her sister now in the room "Good Morning Keni. Sorry I went to go get a coffee and check on things." Spencer sat on her bed and looked at her not yet paying kind to Mari who had taken his spot.
"Good Morning Spencer.." the girl blushed and spoke softly earning a smile from the agent. "you actually spoke! I'm so proud of you!" Mari said jumping from her chair excitedly. She hugged the younger girl gently and sat back down once she realized she was overwhelming Keni. Spencer felt Keni's small soft hand quickly grasp his after the hug and he gently held onto her hand. "Don't worry. You're safe." He gently spoke to her soothingly.
He held her hand as soon as he realized she didn't wanna let it go, and if it made her feel safe he would do it. His eyes moved to Mari as he spoke "I understand Keni's healing progress is very exciting but I advise you to make sure to give her space and only hug her if she says it's ok so you don't overwhelm her and possible set her back further."
Mari nodded eagerly only wanting the best for her sister. Spencers words may have sounded a bit harsh but she needed to hear them. If Keni gets to overwhelmed she could revert back to her old habits which wouldn't be good.
"The nurse said I could try eating if I wanted to." Spencers eyes moved back to Keni as she spoke softly to him. "Do you think I should try eating yet?" He smiled down at her and nodded "I think a piece of toast or crackers to start with would be good. Something light." Without even thinking his hand moved up to her cheek, moving some hair behind her ear so he could see the blush creeping onto her face. He knew he shouldn't have done that but he couldn't help it. She was adorable and her hair was covering her face.
Kenis pale cheeks grew a deep shade of pink, she had grown very attached to Spencer and didn't like when he wasn't near her. She knew she was beginning to develop a small crush on him, he was gentle and soft with her, yet she could see he had a hard side when he was talking to other people.
His hands were soft when they brushed against her cheek, she loved how they felt. She wished he would just leave them there so she could feel them again but he pulled his hand away once the hair was neatly tucked away.
"I'll be right back, I'm gonna go get you something to try and eat." He spoke before walking out.
