(5) Date Night Surprise

Peter sat his room, wearing all but the Spider-man mask, listening to the police radio, itching for a sighting or anything about the green monster from the lab. But nothing was coming in & the evening was calm.

"There's a 211S on 3rd & Mabile street", A man's voice said through the radio. Peter slid across the floor in his wheeled chair to the other desk across the room, he flipped through the pages of the police code manuscript, searching for a 221S.

He ran his enclothed finger against each line of the pages until he came across the code: Robbery Alarm, silent.

Peter threw his arms up in frustration. But it was something to help get his mind off of the boring afternoon.

As he reached for his mask the same man spoke over the radio, "False alarm, just some kids trespassing".

"Ugh", Peter sighed from annoyance. He threw himself into his chair, sighing again.

"Peter", May called out from the kitchen.

"Yeah May", Peter turned in the chair to face the door.

"What time are you coming home", May said as she turned into his room. "Wow, isn't that a little much for a date".

"What", Peter asked? He scrunched his face & tilted his head trying to remember what he was supposed to do today.

"With Mj, don't you have to pick her up soon", May said, she leaned in the doorway, she was just as confused as he was. "It's Wednesday night".

"Oh my god", Peter said as he shot up from his seat & jumped to his closet. Searching for something nice to wear. "I have to pick her up in ten minutes, I haven't showered today, & I haven't figured out what I'm going to wear".

"I got your clothes, go jump in the shower", May said, she walks to his closet & rummaged through his clothes, looking for something nice for him to wear.

Peter quickly took his shower, sparing himself 5 minutes to get dressed & to go pick her up.

"Thanks May", Peter yelled to her, he walked into his room with nothing but a towel, the clothes were sitting on his bed.

Quickly dressing himself in a red & black plaid button-up shirt, with a white t underneath, & dark navy blue jeans.

"Two minutes", May reminds Peter as he walks out to the front door.

Peter quickly made his way down the flights of stairs, walking out to the streets with one minute left, he accepted he was going to be late, but he still lightly jogged until he reached Mj's apartment.

She was sitting outside of her apartment complex on a bench, she was wearing an opened jean jacket, her hair was down, with a black shirt, & black jeans.

Peter walks up to her, "Sorry, I know I'm late, I just got caught up in . . . ".

"It's okay, I just got out here anyways", Michelle said. They both started walking down the street. Their date was at Prachya Thai, it was the same place he & May would go almost every week.

"You look amazing by the way", Peter said, he turned to Michelle & gave her a nerdy smile with a bit of red in his cheeks.

"Thanks, you look great too", Michelle said, their hands slowly came together as they walked down the street.

They came upon the restaurant after twenty minutes of walking & talking. Of course, Peter opened the door for Michelle & stepped aside so she could walk in first.
