Peter walked up the flight of stairs that lead to Michelle's apartment. Michelle was right behind him, holding his hands as the two started making their way to her apartment.
Peter held both his & Michelle's books in his backpack, all 20 pounds of them.
Michelle & Peter just got released from school 10 minutes ago & Miles was supposed to walk home with them, but he went with his buddies & promised he'd be at the house shortly.
"You know, you're really lucky to have a brother", Peter said as he stepped up the stairs onto Michelle's floor. Michelle rolled her eyes as she started searching for her keys. "Seriously, it'd be nice to have a brother or sister, that way it isn't just May & I in the house. She's great & all, but I just wish I had someone to talk to about anything".
"What about Ned", Michelle asked? They started approaching her door.
"Well, yeah, but it's just not the same", Peter said. He held Michelle's books in his hands & his books were in his backpack that hung from his shoulders. Michelle rolled her eyes again.
"Here, hold this", Michelle said as she handed Peter her jacket, placed the jacket on top of the stacks of books Peter was holding & blocked his eyesight. She reached in her pocket & grabbed the keys. She unlocked the door & took her jacket back from Peter. "You can set the books on the couch".
Peter walked to the living room as Michelle walked to her bedroom, she needed to change out of her clothes & into something comfortable. She came back in a pair of joggers & Peter's oversized hoodie, the hoodie covered her shirtless chest.
"Let's start setting up on the floor, that way we have more room to lay out all of the books", Michelle said as she sat down on the floor of the apartment. Peter picked up the heavy books & placed it down on the floor.
"I swear I felt the floor shake", Peter exaggerated after he placed the backpack full of books on the floor. Peter sat down next to Michelle & started pulling the books out of the backpack.
"Should we get started", Peter asked? He gulped as he realized how close he & Michelle were, only inches apart.
"We should probably wait for Miles", Michelle said as she pulled out another book. She slightly moved closer as Peter grabbed one of the several books.
"When is he getting here", Peter asked? Peter noticed how much closer she was getting to him.
"I don't know", Michelle said. She raised her hand to his chin & closed in, Michelle leaned into Peter & both of their eyes closed, their lips barely grazed against the others.
But both pulled away when the front door opened, Michelle's mom stepped into the living room. Peter instantly moved across the pile of books & looked down at them. He faced the opposite of Ms. Jones.
"Michelle, Miles, I'm home", Ms. Jones called out. She looked at the kitchen & the living room, until spotting Michelle & Peter on the ground.
"Oh, hello Peter, what are you doing here", Ms. Jones asked? She had an evil glare directed at Peter, even though Peter could feel the intense glare digging its way into his soul, he didn't turn around. And when he was about to speak up, Michelle did for him.
"He came over to study, I told you this yesterday", Michelle stood up for him. She gave a cocky smile to her mother & an encouraging smile to Peter.
"You know you two aren't supposed to be alone together, where is your brother", Ms. Jones asked as she sat her purse down on the kitchen counter. Michelle shrugged her shoulders. "I'm going to call him".
