firefly ~ Scotty

Scott said he had something planned for us tonight since it was our two year anniversary. Last year I surprised him with a dinner of his favourite foods, so this year he got to do the surprise.

"Scott, what do I need to wear for tonight?"

"Something comfortable"

"Like?"

"A summer dress. Ooh how about that summer dress you wore on our first date?"

"I still have that. I'm so excited to see what you've planned"

"Hopefully you love it"

"I will baby"

Scott has blindfolded me so I wouldn't see anything. Apparently he had the whole set up in the trunk of his car but I wasn't allowed to see anything until he got me out of the passenger seat.

"Ok. I'm just going to set up the trunk and I'll come get you"

"Alright"

I sat there for a few minutes before I heard a door open and Scott grabbing my hands and lead me out of the car. He told me to stand still as his hand untied the blindfold. When the blindfold dropped my eyes were met with fairy lights hung in the trunk and a cute picnic laid out across the floor of the trunk.

"Scott, this is beautiful and at the lookout point. It's amazing. Thank you"

"I wanted to make tonight special and I know how much you like picnics with a good view"

"You remembered?"

"I never forgot"

"This is perfect. Thank you"

"Let's eat"

Scott climbed into the back first before helping me up. I sat next to him as we started eating. There was pizza, strawberries, chips and sandwiches.

"This all looks amazing and too good to eat, but I'm starving"

"What do you want first?"

"Pizza please"

I quickly kissed his lips before eating my slice of pizza. Whilst eating I couldn't help but keep looking at Scott. How the hell did I deserve this wonderfully guy in my life.

"You done staring?"

"Nope. I might just do it all night?"

"Well whilst your attention is on me, I would like to say something"

I kept looking at him to carry on

"Oh god. I'm nervous. We've been together for 2 years and those years have been the best of my entire life. I always felt like I was the one person that would never find love but then you came along and my heart felt connected to you instantly. Something about you made me fall in love you and I'm glad I did because I get to wake to your beautiful face and I smile straight away. You have made so happy and that never really happens ever. So what I'm trying to say, more like ask. Will you marry me?"

He pulled a ring box out of the bag and opened it. It was beautiful and shined perfectly. I looked back at Scott.

"Yes! A thousand times yes!"

He slipped the ring on my finger before I leaned forward and kissed him.

"Why don't we pack all this up and go home and celebrate?"

"I like that idea"

When we got home we celebrated all night long.
