Today I was getting married and I had my cousin, Heath giving me a way due to my dad not being here. He was the closest thing I had to family right now. My mom was nowhere to be found, my grandparents had died. I have my uncle and aunts but I really wanted Heath to walk with me. He was more like a brother than a cousin to me.
"Hey cousin, you ready?"
"Yeah. Thanks again for giving me a way today"
"It's no problem. I'm just glad you've got some family here today"
"Yeah. I think your dad is doing the father daughter dance with me today"
"I heard. You look beautiful"
"Thank you Heath. I just really wish my dad and grandparents were here. I miss them so much"
"I miss them too. Let's make today extra special"
"That we shall. I'm officially ready now"
"Let's go get you hitched!"

At the reception party everyone was having some much fun. Heath and Mariah wanted to give me a wedding present now so they could see my reaction.
"Hi everyone! I'm y/n'a cousin Heath and I know the newlyweds usually open up wedding gifts when they're at home but Mariah and I felt like this was the right time to give Y/n this present. We wanted this day to be special for since three special people couldn't be here today. So with that being said, we hope you like this present as much as we enjoyed making it"
They handed my a box and inside was a photo album. I opened the first page and saw a picture of my dad with his parents (my grandparents). Tears slowly formed in my eyes and I continued looking through. There were pictures from my dad's wedding day, my grandparent's wedding day and it continued until I reached the last photo which was the last photo of them all together.
"You guys this is so thoughtful. Thank you. I appreciate it so much"
"We thought it could be something special to show your kids one day so they know how incredible their grandad and great grandparents were"
"Thank you"
I gave them both a hug before I wipe up my happy tears and carried on with the night by drinking and dancing with my new husband.
