Today was a day to be dreaded, well for me at least. Scotty Sire, a man who I had been in love since meeting and dating him for three years, was getting married today to another woman. I'm happy for him and was surprised to of had an invite to the big day, but it still hurt to know that I couldn't give him the satisfaction of marriage. I love the idea of marriage, but according to Scott himself, he couldn't see that with me. It broke me, but two years later and here I am sat in the crowd next to Natalie and David watching his new bride walk down the aisle. There's no point in lying, she was stunning and made him happy and that made me happy.

"You ok?"

"Yeah, can't be moping about him all the time. He's happy and I have to appreciate that and move forward"

"I'm glad you are. You'll find someone, soon"

"I'm taking a break from dating for a while. It's time to focus on me"

"Good idea"

...

Vows had been spoken, tears had been cried and everyone was on their way to the reception party. It was a beautiful ceremony and the bride looked flawless. I was on my way inside to the venue when I was pulled back.

"Scott?"

"I just wanted to say, thank you for coming today. I know how hard it was for you to come but I really appreciate it"

"I'm happy for you Scott. I really am. She seems lovely and looked gorgeous today. I'm not going to lie, it was hard for me to drive here but I did it for you. You're my friend and I'm going to let our past relationship get in the way of that. I can tell she makes you happy and that puts a smile on my face, knowing that you are happy"

"Wow, I appreciate those words and I'm glad you like her. We better head inside and dance the night away"

And so we did. I danced with the bride and it was fun. I got drunk with Natalie which meant David had to be the one to drive us home, followed by Jeff who had to drive my car with Zane and Todd in. I was placed on my bed by Jeff who allowed Zane and Todd to crash on my couch. Jeff stayed by my side just in case I needed to throw up. Overall, it was a fucking good night.

OOh, early update. It's currently 12:47 am and I've just finished writing this. Anyways, hope you enjoyed this somewhat sad/happy imagine. Peace!
