Swinging light

A full day of running was what happened to all four kids. Ten kept clinging onto Twelve the entire run as the dodged greedy hand after greedy hand. They all remained close somehow up until now.
Six had an idea to climb up to a light when she felt the first ping of hunger. She felt another soon as they began sneaking under another table. Then before she knew it another man had seen her..she didn't know how but she remembered dropping to her knees in pain and hearing him scream. She got up and ran as her friends rushed off.
He was so desperate to get them that he knocked another women over...a women they ended up jumping on when she was distracted looking for them. They jumped up and rushed past a bunch of cakes as the man from before climbed over her like nothing.
Six knew this. She knew for sure but, all she could think about was the hunger pains sting at her stomach but, refused to slow down.  If she did she knew she would die. So she had to focus on something. Anything really. So it made sense her eyes landed on twelve. She blushed focusing on the girl running for her life mumbling swears under her breath.
Even at a moment where they were closest to death, she was all she could think about.
Or at least she was until she yelled about a light. That had brought six out of her train of thought and focus. She looked forward seeing a large swinging light on top of a table a few inches away from them. All they had to do was jump up there and climb before the now 40 people chasing them to eat them.
Without thinking much all four of them jumped onto a table. Twelve had fallen a bit high made Six pick him up. She had him on her back like a bag while he screamed loudly. She gulped as they got close to the light.
All it would take was a moment out of concentration and...well there would be one less person in the group.
So six gulped as she jumped focusing her mind on the last thing she wanted to see just incase. She held her arm up with her friends screaming with them as a single thing was in her mind.
Twelve. All she could see was twelve smiling
And before she knew it they had all landed on the other side of the large gap bellow them. She could hear a man screaming like a pig getting it's head cut off as he fell to his death. As they all landed on their feet the kids burst out laughing. They all just laughed hugging each other.
"That was some nice jumping." Twelve smiled bumping her shoulder with her fist. Six began blushing as her friends started to walk forward leaving her behind.
She just stood there before telling a ping of hunger. She held in a moan and gripped her belly walking forward, hoping that this wouldn't get worse.
If only six would have known how bad her hunger would have gotten, then she would have thrown herself off the ledge behind her.
