• CHAPTER SEVEN •

The school dissmissed early to prepare for prom tomight, Tom said he'll pick up Madeline at eight and now it was just six, two more hours to go. Madeline took a shower , dried her hair and changed ,and all she needed was lip gloss. Now siting on her couch with everything on , Loki walked out from the kitchen with a cup of coffee that she introduced to him last night. Madeline felt his eyes on her as she awkwardly turn to him and he kept staring "what?" she asked raising her an eyebrow "nothing, you just look quiet pretty for a mortal" he shrugged and she blushed and looked away as she did , Madeline don't like blushing in front of people, it makes her feel embarrassed. "So you're attending a ball am I right?" Loki asked and she nodded "hmm" he simply hummed and that's when the doorbell rang , standing up and walked to the door and as expected it was Tom, a handsome Tom, wearing a suit that shows his body shape and a dark green tie that matches your dress "wow you look stunning Maddie!" He said with a cheerful excited tone "not looking bad yourself Mr Hiddleston" she chuckled , he held out his arm and sne took it , Maddeline wanted to say goodbye to Loki but he wasn't there when she turned "forgot something?" Tom asked and she could only shook her head saying no.

Both of them arrived to the hall, where different pairs of people and different colours of dresses were seen and music Oozing out from the entrance , they walked in and pictures were took. both walking across the dance floor "oh , stay here , I'll go get some drinks" Tom offered and Madeline nodded , she found a place and sat down, waiting for Tom but then a cold splash of liquid was poured on her, shocked , she looked up and saw her , Amelia... Everyone started to laugh "thats what you get for being a slut!" She shouted as everyone laughed even louder, for one second she thought Tom will come get her out of here but there was no sign of him . She were embarrassed, it was too much to bear and she ran out,she got into a cab and kept her head down trying to hold her tears the whole way and payed the driver before getting off, she fished out her keys and opened the door. Madeline saw Loki sitting in the couch watching TV but she didnt want to talk "you're home early- " he stopped and shot up, surprised but with a frown on his face, his eyes scanned her soaked self. "I-I.." she wanted to lie but she couldn't , and Loki without another word hugged her , as tight as he could, and that's when she broke, she cried, burying her face onto his chest, he rested his chin on her head and hushed softly. After what felt like foreverh she broke the hug "I need a bath" she said and Loki nodded. Madeline stayed under the hot water for who knows how long and dried herself . Changing back to some normal clothes , she walked out wanting a cup of water but when she opened the door Loki was already standing outside looking at her with a worried look "who?" He asked "Loki I'm-" "who? Was it him?" He asked raising his voice and was obviously holiding in his boiling anger within "no Loki .. It wasn't, it was someone else" she said softly sighing , she didn't want to mention it and Loki could tell "I'm sorry..." He apologised "it's alright, I don't like dancing anyways" "well in that case, lady Madeline, may I have this dance?" He asked bowing a bit offering a hand "Loki I just told you I don't like dancing and -and I don't know how to dance " she replied with a faint smile "well then, follow my lead, I'll teach you" he said , he snapped his fingers and slow music was heard , Madeline smiled and took his hand , dancing together like..like it was meant to be..and when the song almost ends, Loki looked into her eyes , as she lost in his , he leaned forward slowly closing his eyes as she did , lips only inches apart , but then her phone vibrated , waking her up from what felt like a dream "sorry" she said quickly pulling away and reached for her phone , it was Tom

"How could he not know?" she asked herself

Well I hope you get better and it's alright , your health is more important now, are you sure I don't need to come over? - T

She put down her phone and smiled softly at Loki "I'm sorry about what happened" he said , and she shook her head "this was the best night ever.. Thank you "she smiled and leaned in to kiss Loki's cheek , he didn't give her any respond but only looked down to the floor "what's wrong Loki?" "Nothing he said "you should get Some rest" he smiled and pushed her softly on the arm , "I had a great night she smile before closing the door behind her "so did I..." He whispered "but I can't get too attached " he muttered softly before getting to sleep .
