Chapter 14 ~ Thanksgiving with Chad and Nila

Laura's Pov

I woke up the next morning and the boys were still asleep. I got out of bed and went into the bathroom to take a shower. After I finished my shower, I got out and wrapped a towel around my body. I went out in the room and looked through my suitcase for an outfit to wear.

I finally found the outfit I was looking for and went in the bathroom to put it on. Once I was dressed I blow dried my hair and straightened it. I went back in my room and saw Cal was awake. He said, "Good morning babe."

I sat on the bed next to him and said, "Morning baby." "Did you sleep okay last night?"

"When do I not sleep good when I'm in your arms?" "I guess you're right. What was I thinking?"

I laid my head on his chest and said, "Today's gonna be good, right?" "I hope so. I'll try to make sure everyone behaves."

He kissed the top of my head and ran his fingers through my hair. Soon the boys woke up and went in the guest room to get ready. While Cal went in the bathroom to take a shower, I went and made sure my brothers were awake.

I went in Hayes's room first because I was a little nervous to go in Nash's room since Taylor spent the night last night. I mean. If me and Cal are okay with having sex in the house, I'm sure they are too.

Once I was in Hayes's room I jumped on him and said, "Wakey wakey Haysie boo!" He put a pillow over his head and said, "No."

"C'mon Haysie! We have to get ready to go to Chad's house." "You can call him dad, you know."

"Not happening. Never again." He rolled his eyes and said, "Fine. I'm up. Now leave me to get ready in peace."

"Good boy."

I got off his bed and went down the hall to Nash's room. I was a little hesitant to go in there, but it seemed like they might be awake. I slowly opened the door and thank the lord, they were both clothed and just sitting in bed, talking.

Nash said, "Can I help you with something?" "Oh. Um. I just wanted to make sure y'all were up and getting ready to go to Chad's."

"Well we're up. And you know you can call him dad, right?" I rolled my eyes and said, "You and Hayes both think that's what he deserves to be called. Maybe he does for y'all, but he lost that right from me."

Then I walked out of the room and went down to my room. Cal was sitting on the bed in a towel.

"Babe. Why aren't you dressed?" "Laura. We've got time. I just wanted to lay here for a second."

He pulled me down on the bed and said, "Don't act like you don't like the view." "Cal. Stop. You're so gross."

He kissed me and said, "C'mon baby. We never get to have alone time like this." "I know babe. But we need to get ready. And I promise. Once tour is completely over, we will get a whole day to ourselves and I will make sure the boys stay as far away as possible. Now go get dressed."

I got off the bed and started to do my makeup. I saw Cal get off the bed and grab some clothes out of his suitcase. He got dressed and said, "Are you happy now?"

"Very." "How much longer until you're done with your makeup?"

"I just need to put on mascara Cal." "So like 10 minutes."

"Yeah. About 10 minutes." "Then can we cuddle until we have to leave?"

"Sure baby."

I finished my makeup and put everything away. I sat on the bed next to Cal and he immediately wrapped his arms around me. He said, "This is all I wanted this morning."

"I know baby. But I knew if I didn't start getting ready right when I woke up, we would be late." "I swear. You're so much like a mom already."

"You try living with three younger brothers. You'd act like a mom too." "Understandable."

We were laying there for a few minutes and then the boys came in. Ash said, "Laura. We're bored."

"Ash. We're literally leaving in five minutes." "I know. But we're still bored."

"Stop being a baby."'

Before I knew it, we were all on our way to Chad and Nila's. Once we got there, we went inside and greeted everyone. Although I don't particularly like Chad, I still talked to him because I knew it would make Nila happy.

We had our brunch and stayed there for a little while longer. After we left Chad and Nila's, we went back to my mom's and went upstairs to change. I put on one of Cal's sweatshirts and a pair of leggings. We went back downstairs and just kind of hung out. Mom made us dinner and we all ate and acted like a big happy family. It's amazing how well all of us get together.

We honestly just had a really chill night. We went out back and had a bonfire. Everything was pretty amazing. I definitely miss having days like these all the time while I'm in Australia, but the boys try to recreate them when they can.

Living on the other side of the world definitely is a change. I've been living in Australia for almost 3 years now and I still find myself getting homesick from time. I've just always been close to my mom and my brothers. And then once Johnnie came into our lives and mom had Sky, they were also a huge part of my life.

It's crazy to me how much things seem to change when you aren't around. For me, there's just something about being out in the country that seems so serene and acts as my safe place. Mom's always lived in houses that have huge backyards and always made sure there was enough room for us to be able to adventure.

Sky is currently in my lap and she's half asleep. I picked her up and went inside. I took her up to her room and put her in her pajamas. I tucked her in and she said, "Laura? How long are you gonna be gone this time?"

"Um. I don't know sweet pea. Me and the boys leave tomorrow. I'll try to come back for your birthday. Okay sweetie?" "If you can't come back, can we come visit you?"

"We'll see princess. I'll talk to mommy about everything, okay?" "Okay. I love you."

"I love you too sweet pea." I turned her lights off and walked out of the room.

I went back downstairs and went out back. I sat on Cal's lap and he said, "Is she asleep?"

I nodded. He said, "Everything okay?"

"Yeah. Everything's fine. I'm just thinking about what she asked me." "And what was that?"

"She asked when we were gonna come back and see her." "Don't stress about it. We'll find a time baby. Tour is only three more months."

"I know. I told her we would try to come back for her birthday. And she said that if I can't come here, then she wants to come to us." "We'll figure it out. We've got a little more than 6 months until her birthday. There's time to figure things out."

I nodded and he kissed my temple. After a little while, Johnnie put out the fire and we all went to bed. As soon as I got in my room, I flopped on my bed and got under the covers.

Cal said, "Babe. Sit up. You need to take off your makeup." "No. Too tired."

"Just sit up. I'll wipe it off baby."

He got a makeup wipe out of my bag and I sat up so he could take it off. This isn't an uncommon occurrence. Usually it's when I come home from the clubs and I'm super drunk. But it's also common for me to just be too tired to do it.

Once he finished taking my makeup off, he got one of my hair ties and put my hair up. That was for me and him. My hair is super long, so if it's loose when I go to sleep, it's kind of a weapon. It's also a pain in the ass in the morning because it'll get tangled.

He said, "Okay. Baby. You can go to sleep now." "Thank you Cal."

I laid back down and he laid next to me. He pulled me into his chest and kissed the top of my head.

He said, "Good night beautiful." "Good night baby."

And it didn't take long for me to fall asleep.
