Chapter 13 ~ Thanksgiving Day

Laura's Pov

Me and the guys have been in North Carolina for a few days now and today is Thanksgiving Day. We're celebrating with my mom and her family today, and then celebrating with Nila and Chad's family tomorrow. I'm excited to see my mom's family. They've never had any problems with me, or with Calum and the guys. Chad's side of the family on the other hand don't particularly like me, they never have and probably never will.

I know Calum's nervous to meet Johnnie's family. He's never met them before because any time they were here, he was touring or back in Australia. I've told my Nanny and PaPaw a lot about him and I know they're excited to meet him.

Calum is currently pacing back and forth in my room and I can see how nervous he is while I'm doing my makeup.

"Calum. Stop stressing. My Nanny and PaPaw are going to love you. Johnnie's side of the family is so sweet. I have yet to find someone they don't like. Everything's gonna be fine." "Babe. What if they hate me? We're engaged. What if they don't approve?"

"Calum. We've been dating for seven years. If they were just not gonna like you, they would've broken us up ages ago. Now please. Just go get ready and stop freaking out. I'm not afraid to go get the boys and make them slap some sense into you." "Fine. I'll go get ready."

He kissed the top of my head and went in the bathroom. Nash came in my room and said, "Is he still freaking out?"

"Yes Nash. I just got him to go start getting ready. I was worried I was gonna have to get the boys to deal with him. He thinks Nanny and PaPaw are going to hate him." "That's crazy. Nanny and PaPaw love everyone."

"I know. Speaking of that. Is Taylor coming today? I'm so excited to meet this girl that my baby brother is in love with." "Yes she's coming today. But please. For the love of God. Don't embarrass me."

"Sorry little bro. I make no promises." He rolled his eyes and said, "Nanny and PaPaw are gonna be here in two hours. And mom's family is gonna be here soon."

"I got it Nash. Just go get ready." He walked out of the room and I finished my makeup.

Once I was done with my makeup I got dressed and Cal came out of the bathroom.

"Look at my handsome man." "Laura. Now is not the time for babying me."

"Calum Thomas Hood. My mom's side of the family already loves you and Johnnie's side of the family will too. There's nothing to hate about you. They just care about whether or not you treat me well. They know you're a good guy. But you can't stress yourself out. You just need to go down there and be the Cal I fell in love with." He nodded.

Ash, Luke, and Mikey came in and Ash said, "Do we need to deal with him?" Cal said, "No. I'm fine."

I said, "He's fine now. You boys just go downstairs and see if my mom and Johnnie need anything." They nodded and went downstairs.

Cal said, "How much longer until your Nanny and PaPaw are here?" "Maybe an hour? But my mom's family is gonna be here soon."

I looked out of my window and saw that their car was already in the driveway. "Well. My mom's family is already here. And I think Taylor is too. So let's go down there and greet everyone and then we can get to know Nash's girlfriend." "Babe."

"No Calum. We need to go down there. C'mon. The boys are already down there. Now we need to be. Everything will be fine. It'll be you and the boys down there. And the girls will be in the kitchen." "Babe. You're leaving me alone with the boys of the family?"

"Yes. But it'll be fine. You've met most of them before. And my brothers will help you with conversation." "Fine. But once your PaPaw gets there, you need to come help me through it."
