Chapter 16 ~ Christmas Day

Laura's Pov

Well. We're back in Australia and we are going to celebrate Christmas with the boys' families today. The boys have been at my house since we got back two days ago and they're still in a slump from being on tour.

Cal and I are currently laying in bed and I can tell he has a lot going through his head. He looked down at me and said, "The boys and I are gonna talk to management about getting a break after this tour. Maybe taking a year or two for a hiatus."

"You do what you think is best, baby. I just want you guys to be happy." "I think a hiatus is really what we need. Plus, it'll give us more time to plan the wedding and all of that."

"Yeah. More time to plan the wedding and maybe start our family." "I would love to start our family."

I checked the time and saw that it was 9:30. I said, '"Cal. We need to start getting ready. We're supposed to be at Anne-Marie's at 11." "Fine. I'll go make sure the boys are up. You just get ready."

I kissed him and he walked out of the room. I went in the bathroom and brushed my hair out. I curled it and then went back in my room and went over to my vanity.

I started doing my makeup and Ash came into the room. He sat on my bed and said, "Laura. Has Cal talked to you about the hiatus?"

"Yeah. Why?" "What do you think about it?"

"Honestly? I don't think it's a terrible idea. You guys are so drained. You need some time to recuperate." "But do you really think management will go for it?"

"Hopefully. I mean. If they don't, y'all are gonna get to a point where you aren't able to give it your all." "You're right."

"I wouldn't stress about it right now. It's Christmas and we're back with y'all's families. Don't think about anything having to do with the band today." "Okay. Okay. I'm done talking about it."

"Good. Now go get ready. We need to head to your mom's soon." He nodded and walked out.

Cal came in and said, "Everything okay baby?" "Yeah. Ash just wanted to get my opinion on the hiatus."

"And?" "I told him that I thought it would be good for you guys."

"Good." "Now go get ready baby."

He went in the bathroom and I finished off my makeup. Once I finished my makeup, I put on a pair of light wash jeans, with a black tank top and cream cardigan. I slid on my white converse and Cal came out of the bathroom. He said, "Don't you look beautiful."

"Thank you baby." He kissed me and said, "My beautiful fiance."

"I love you." "I love you too baby girl."

We went downstairs and all the boys were waiting for us. We went out to the car and drove to Anne-Marie's house.

12 hours later and we were finally back home. I went up to my room and took off my makeup, I put my hair up in a bun and put on a pair of athletic shorts and one of Calum's tshirts. I laid on my bed and called my mom.

I talked to the family for a little over an hour and then Cal came in. He flopped next to me and said, "Merry Christmas guys."

They all said Merry Christmas and we talked for them a little while longer. At around midnight we hung up.

I laid on Cal and said, "I am so tired. I can't believe how long today was." "I know baby. But now we can relax for the rest of our break before going on the last leg of the tour."

"Can we ever really relax with the guys here?" "We could always kick them out for a day."

"Tempting. But I would never do that to them." "You're too nice to my idiot best friends."

"Hey. They're our idiot best friends." "You're right. What was I thinking?"

"I'm stuck with those idiots for the rest of my life, and I wouldn't change a thing." "I'm glad. Because it definitely would've been a deal breaker if you didn't like the boys."

"I'm sure baby. I know how much you love the boys." "But I'll never love them more than I love you."

"You're so cute." He kissed the top of my head and said, "Let's get some rest baby. It's been a long day."

"Goodnight Cal. I love you." "I love you too baby girl."

I snuggled into him and soon I was asleep.
