Well. Today is the day I'm going to look for my wedding dress. Nila, my mom, and Sky flew out to be a part of it and I can't even explain how excited I am to have them here. I'm truly blessed that mom and Nila are actually close.
When Nila first became my stepmom, I was worried mom wouldn't like her, but they ended up being really close and bonding over taking care of my brothers and I. We decided that once I found the dress, or at least narrowed it down, we'll call my brothers and get their opinions.
While I'm out with the girls and Ash, Cal is going to be working on some of the details for the wedding with Mikey and Luke. Right now, I'm laying in bed with Cal, procrastinating getting ready for the day.
Cal managed to convince me to go to 'Brides of Sydney', and of course, management was able to get us on the show. I mean. I'm marrying Calum Hood, any show would want the views from the fans.
I laid my head on Cal's chest and said, "Do I have to go?" "Yes baby girl. You're going. You're gonna find your perfect dress and look beautiful on our wedding day."
"I just feel weird going to do this for the show." "Baby. C'mon. It'll be fun. It'll be great bonding for you and the girls."
"Fine. But I'm still not happy that management had to make such a big deal out of this." "They just wanted to give the fans a little something baby. No doubt there will be fans trying to sneak into the wedding, but it'll give them a little peace of mind to know they can watch it all unfold on the show."
"Fine. Fine." Then there was a knock on the door and Mali stuck her head in. She said, "Laura. I swear. If you don't go get ready for this appointment, we're going to be so late."
"Okay Mali. I'm getting ready." Cal said, "Mali. Be nice. She'll get ready. Just go chill out downstairs."
She rolled her eyes and went downstairs. Cal said, "She'll get over herself soon. She just wants this to be perfect for you. So go get your pretty little self ready."
I kissed him and said, "You're lucky I love you." I got out of bed and went in the bathroom. I showered and then got out and dried my hair. I decided to leave it in its natural wave and went back in the bedroom to do my makeup.
Once I finished my makeup, I went in the closet and got out my outfit for the day.

Once I was dressed, I grabbed my bag and went downstairs. Mali said, "Thank god you're finally ready." Cal said, "Mali. Stop it. I know you want things to be perfect, but you sure as hell do not need to be so rude to her."
I said, "Cal. Calm down. It's okay. She just wants to make sure everything goes well. And that starts with making sure we're on time. It's okay." He pulled me down in his lap and said, "I just don't like her being rude."
"I know baby. But it's okay. She's doing it out of the kindness of her heart. Now we need to go. But I'll see you when we get home. Just try to behave yourself with Luke and Mikey." "Okay baby. Have fun."
He kissed me and I left with Mali. We picked up Ash and Lauren and then headed to the dress shop to meet up with Joy, my mom, Nila and Sky. We went into the dress shop and everyone immediately started looking at dresses.
I didn't really have much of an idea of what I wanted, so I was just letting everyone else pick. Soon our stylist met up with us and we did the normal interview and all of that. Once all of that was done, I was taken back to the dressing room to start trying on dresses.
Once I had the first dress on, we went out to show everyone. It was a nice dress, but it didn't feel like the one for me. After a few dresses, I felt like I had finally found the one.
When we went out to show everyone, my mom already had tears in her eyes. Mali said, "Oh. We have to call your brothers. This one is perfect."
She quickly facetimed them and after them saying that they didn't like the skin showing and being all overprotective and brotherly, they said they loved it on me. Once they got my measurements, we went up front to pay for it.
I pulled out my wallet, but my mom said, "Oh no you don't. You are not paying for this dress."
"Mom. I can pay for it." "No. I wanna pay for it. Well. Actually, Joy, Nila, and I are going to split the cost, but you are not paying a single cent baby doll. That is not how this works."
Just as I was about to object, Mali said, "Save your breath. There's no talking them out of it. Just be glad that they fought about the payment before we even got here."
"Fine. I'll let them pay for it." Once they figured out how it would be split, they paid and we all went out to lunch.
I said, "Thank you guys for paying for my dress. But you really didn't have to." Nila said, "Babydoll. We wanted to. This is your wedding day. It's such a special day. If you think you're spending a single cent on this wedding, that's crazy. The parents have got this. Your father had money set aside for your wedding day, so we're dipping into that and if there's anything left, it'll go towards your honeymoon."
"Chad put aside money for my wedding day?" Mom said, "Oh yeah. He did that when you were born. He's been putting aside money every year."
"So, he didn't stop saving and just spend the money on something else when I started dating Calum and moved to Australia?" Nila said, "Nope. He's been saving every year. No matter how mad you are at him, he's always gonna love you babydoll. He knows he hasn't exactly been the best father the past few years, but he's hoping to make up for it and fix things with you."
"Oh. Wow. I didn't know he was so serious about fixing things." Mom said, "He's even talked to me and Johnnie about it. He wants to fix things with you and Calum. I know he didn't support you guys in the beginning, but I think he just didn't like the idea of having you on the other side of the world."
"Okay. Well. I guess I can call him to talk things through later. But let's get back on a happier page." They all nodded and we went to lunch.
Once we finished lunch, we went our separate ways and Mali and I took Ash and Lauren home. After we dropped them off, Mali took me home and then headed back to her house.
I went inside and saw Cal on the couch watching tv. I sat next to him and laid my head on his chest. He said, "Hey baby girl. How did things go today? Did you find the perfect dress?"
"Uh. Yeah. I did." He looked down at me and said, "Everything okay?"
"I don't know. It's just. The moms all fought over paying for my dress. Which ended in them splitting the cost. But then we were talking about it and Nila told me that Chad has been saving for my wedding day for ages. He has a whole fund saved." "And how does that make you feel?"
"Honestly. I don't know. Nila and Mom said he wanted to try to fix things with us. But I don't know if I can do that." "We'll just take it one step at a time. No need to rush into fixing things."
"It's not that I'm not grateful that he has money set aside for our wedding, but I don't want him thinking he can buy my love back. He's never liked you, and that hurts me. After all you've done for me, he hasn't been able to find it in his heart to accept you the way everyone else has." "Baby. If you don't want to fix things, you don't have to. But I think it would be good if you at least talk to him before the wedding. Just so you can get his side and he can get yours. Then you can see where things go from there."
"I guess I can do that." "Just don't stress baby girl. Our wedding day is supposed to be all about you."
"And you too." "Yes babe. But it's mainly about you."
"Whatever you say baby." He wrapped his arms around me and said, "Let's just relax. We can have a movie night, drink some wine, order some Chinese food."
"You always know how to take the stress away." He kissed the top of my head and said, "After seven years, you pick up on a few things."
