Accidentally In Love

Chapter 9

Jake's POV

I have hated Addison for as long as I can remember. Or so she thinks. I annoy her just so she notices me. The first time I saw her, I knew she was special. The only problem was, she liked my best friend.

Alex was more than a best friend to me. He was my brother. I've known him for ten years.

At the last party, when Addison admitted to having feelings for Alex, I got upset. I mean I knew about it already, but it hurt hearing her say those words.

Then I came up with a plan. A plan where I could spend time with her. I wasn't sure she would agree to it, but she did. Yessss!

That day when we kissed in the hallway, I was afraid she wouldn't,and confess that it was all a lie. But....she kissed me back. It's a shame it wasn't that long. But I'll take the win.

She looks stunning tonight(Though I can guarantee that she'd still look amazing in a paper bag too). I've noticed that she prefers wearing converse

Just as she noticed Mikayla, she was on high alert. There was a second of fear in her eyes but she covered it up quickly. If you blinked, you missed it.

"Let's go dance. You need to relax", I take her hand and lead her to the makeshift dance floor in the centre. After five minutes of us dancing, Alex walked in. She must have seen him too because her arms automatically went around my neck. I put my hands on her waist. Alex spotted us but didn't come over. He looked a little furious but headed straight for the drinks.

"I need to use the washroom", saying this she walked away. I also got of the dance floor and went to get myself a glass of water.

Addison's POV

As I was washing my hands, someone barged through the door. "Umm...this is occupied"

"I saw you dancing. Wanna show me your moves?" It was Keith. You can say that he worships Jen. He followed her around like a puppy. He walked towards me and pushed me against the wall behind. My head hit the wall a little too hard.

"Let me go! Please!" My voice sounded pathetic and soft to my own ears. He laughed as I tried to get out of his grasp. I saw Jennifer and Mikayla standing at the door. Now fear was replaced by anger and hatred. Keith's lips were on my neck. I stepped hard on his foot and kicked him where the sun doesn't shine. I gave a final look to the two bee-otches and walk out.

I didn't wait for anyone and got out of the house. Once I'm on the footpath I allowed myself to cry. Just then,

"Hey. There you are. Wait , Addison why are you crying?" Jake looked at me with concern. He hugged me and I continued crying.

I tried to calm myself down but it was totally unsuccessful.

"Dude did you say something to her? I swear I don't care if you are my best friend but I'll break your nose." Alex was glaring at Jake. Then he looked at me with concern said,"Addy hey, did he say something to you? Are you alright?"

"Don't worry. He didn't do anything. Jake can you please take me home?" By now I had managed to stop crying but was still sniffling.

"Of course" ,I looked at Alex one last time and got in the car.

During the car ride I started sobbing again. Jake didn't press me for answers.

"Is anyone home?"he asked pulling into my driveway.

"No. Mom was called in for a surgery and Emma is with Josh." Josh was Emma's boyfriend and like my older brother. He too went to NYU.

"Do you want me to say?"

"You don't have to. You should go home and get some rest an-..."I was cut off by him.

"Princess. Do you want me to stay for a while? I don't mind."

"Please",that brought a soft smile to his lips.

We both made are way into the house. I needed to get out of these clothes cause of what happened tonight. I head straight up and take a quick shower. I change into my sweatpants and put on a tshirt. I already informed everyone I was heading home.

I sat on the bed and replayed whatever happened today. A tear came down my left check then one more...and another. Just then jake walked in he quickly rushed to my side and hugged me. He stroked my hair in an effort to comfort me. It was working, just a bit.

When my crying had stopped, he got me a glass of water. "Do you wanna tell me what happened today? No pressure."

I don't know why but I  felt that I could trust him. So I told him everything. His features hardened and his hand was in a fist by the time I ended.

"I'm so glad you are alright. But what the hell! Not even they have the right to do something like this. God I wanna kill them. What's wrong with them?! Are they even humans?!" He was still holding onto my hand. It felt...comforting.

"If you go to kill them I wanna come. I need the satisfaction. But seriously Jake, thank you. For staying here with me." Never thought I'd thank him.

He smiled," It's no problem. You need to get some rest. I'll leave when you fall asleep."

"Thanks Jake." I was almost asleep when I heard him saying something but only caught," I'll always be here princess."
